Abstract

Support system (4) for large-area structures, consisting of at least three thermal and / or seismic insulators configured to rest on a foundation (8) and to support at least one segment (12) of the large-area structure, with the following features: - a solid insulator (16) designed in such a way that it does not deform under the load of thermal deformations to which the supported segment (12) is subjected, - at least two vibration isolators (20) configured to bend elastically under the load of thermal deformations to which the supported segment (12) is subjected, - wherein each of the vibration isolators (20) is oriented such that it allows vibrations on a principal vibration plane (24) perpendicular to the foundation (8) and includes a vertical central axis (MM) of the fixed isolator (16) perpendicular to the foundation (8).
