Cutting device for removing a plaster cast

Abstract

Cutter for removing a plaster cast, comprising: - a housing (2) with a first side (4), a second side (6) opposite the first side (4), a front (8), a back (10), a bottom (12), a top (14) and a handle (26) designed for holding and guiding the cutter; - a fixed blade (16) connected directly or indirectly to the housing (2); - a foot (18) extending from the bottom (12) of the housing (2) and configured to guide a material to be cut, in particular a plaster material, over the foot (18) and over the fixed blade (16); - a motor (34) with a first shaft (36) defining a first axis of rotation (38); - a first gear (22) arranged on a first side of the blade (16) corresponding to the first side (4) of the housing (2); wherein the foot (18) has a flat base (20) at least in one section; wherein the cutter has a center of gravity;wherein an x-axis is aligned from the front (8) of the housing (2) to the rear (10) of the housing (2) and runs parallel to the flat underside (20) of the base (18), a y-axis is aligned from the first side (4) of the housing (2) to the second side (6) of the housing (2), and a z-axis is aligned from the bottom (12) of the housing (2) to the top (14) of the housing (2); wherein the first gear (22) is configured to move the cutter with respect to the material to be cut, in particular with respect to the plaster material, in order to cut the material; wherein the first gear (22) is mounted on a second shaft (42) which defines a second axis of rotation (43); and wherein the first shaft (36) is configured to drive the second shaft (42) directly or indirectly via a bevel gear (40).
