Battery characterized in that it comprises: a housing (10) wherein the housing (10) is provided with an opening (11) at at least one end; a battery cell (20) located in the housing (10); a cover plate (30), wherein the cover plate (30) is placed on the opening (11); wherein the cover plate comprises a main body of the cover plate (32) and a shoulder (31) arranged on the outside of the main body of the cover plate (32); wherein the housing (10) has an end face (12) located at the opening (11); wherein the shoulder (31) has an overlapping surface (311) that overlaps with the end face (12); wherein the overlapping area (16) is formed between the end face (12) and the overlapping surface (311); wherein the end face (12) is connected to the overlapping surface (311); wherein the end face (12) is a plane; wherein the width of the overlapping area (16) along the direction (X) parallel to the end face (12) is a mm; wherein the distance between the overlapping surface (311) and the negative electrode (22) of the battery cell (20) in the direction (Y) perpendicular to the end face (12) is b mm; where a × b satisfies: 1.2 mm 2≦ (a × b) ≦ 15 mm 2 .
