Abstract
Cloud-connected electrical access control system for shared electrically operated equipment, comprising: (a) at least one inline power control module configured to be electrically interposed between a wall outlet and an equipment without requiring any modification of the equipment's internal electronics; (b) wherein the power control module comprises: • an enclosure, • an electrical power switching device configured to selectively enable or disable the supply of power to the equipment, • a communication module configured to establish an immediate network connection via at least one cellular communication or wireless internet connection, • and a control unit configured to authenticate directly with a remote backend platform without requiring a separate local gateway device;(c) wherein the enclosure defines a receptacle or enclosure interior configured to receive and mechanically retain a power plug of the device; (d) wherein the receptacle is adapted to support one or more mechanical locking mechanisms configured to prevent unauthorized removal of the device plug; (e) a backend platform configured to: • authenticate the power control module, • transmit authorized control commands to the power control module, • collect session-related operating data, • and manage operating states; (f) wherein, upon receiving an authorized activation command from the backend platform, the power control module activates the electrical power supply to the device;(g) and wherein the system is designed to be operated in shared residential, commercial, institutional or temporary use environments to provide controlled electrical access to the device.;
