Abstract
Computer-implemented system for document-type-controlled automated processing of documents, in particular identification documents, payment cards and verification documents, comprising: (a) a classification unit set up to automatically determine a document type of a document to be processed based on machine-readable document characteristics, wherein the classification result is entered as an atomic input value into a control data record and the classification unit is executed exactly once per processing operation;(b) a control unit coupled with the classification unit, configured to generate a structured, machine-readable control data set depending on the specific document type, wherein the control data set acts as the central technical control object within the system architecture and completely determines the execution of the processing process, and wherein the control data set has an integrity binding to the classification result that prevents subsequent modification of the document type underlying the control data set during an ongoing processing operation;(c) a processing chain comprising at least one capture unit, a data extraction unit, and a validation unit, wherein (d) the capture unit provides at least two functionally separate, logically or physically distinct capture paths that differ in at least one technical capture parameter, (e) the control unit executes deterministic mapping logic depending on the specific document type, which generates an assignment decision for a capture path, and (f) the assignment to a capture path is based on mapping logic stored in a machine-readable data structure, with no alternative manual assignment decision provided as an equivalent control mechanism; (g) a validation unit for checking extracted data against a machine-readable, document-type- and product-category-specific decision logic;(h) an activation interface for the automated transfer of validated data to an external target system without re-entry; (i) a session management unit for generating a system-generated, unique, collision-resistant session-based identifier with a defined time validity interval, wherein the session-based identifier contains a cryptographically or functionally equivalent reference to the processing progress;characterized in that (j) the processing units are configured by the control data record as the central technical control object, wherein the control data record, upon its creation, effects a simultaneous pre-configuration of the processing units - in particular the assignment to the acquisition path, the activation conditions of the data extraction unit and the selection of the decision logic to be applied by the validation unit - and the actual execution of each processing unit is sequential, wherein no alternative manual or user-induced configuration is provided as an equivalent control mechanism in the system architecture;(k) the processing units are arranged in a strictly sequential processing chain in which each processing unit is activated by a positive processing result of the preceding processing unit, and the system architecture prevents skipping, parallel execution or rearrangement of processing steps;(I) the processing chain is controlled by events generated internally by the system, whereby external systems have no write access to the sequence and activation logic of the processing chain, the state control or the activation conditions, user interactions have no influence on the process control within an ongoing processing operation, all control decisions are data-driven and a runtime modification of the basic sequence and activation logic of the processing chain is excluded by the system, wherein the basic sequence and activation logic of the processing chain remains unaffected by an update of the decision logic executed within the validation unit in a defined maintenance mode outside of an ongoing processing operation;(m) the integrity of the control logic and the control data record is continuously verified by a technical integrity check and compliance with the closed system architecture is technically enforced by an access-restricted execution environment; (n) a negative test output of the validation unit leads to a terminal termination state in which further processing, data transmission or activation is prevented by the system and which is brought about automatically without the possibility of manual override, wherein the terminal termination state causes an invalidation of the associated control data record and a deletion of the processing-relevant data held in volatile memory, and a resumption takes place by initiating a new acquisition process with a new session-based identifier;(o) the session-based identifier enables the continuation of the processing operation on a second execution unit different from the original execution unit, whereby already validated data is adopted and redundant processing steps are suppressed by the system; (p) all data processing steps within a processing operation take place in volatile memory and persistent storage outside of volatile memory is prevented by the system, except for the session-based identifier and the validated data record references that are technically essential for the session-based continuation according to feature (o); (q) the system architecture can be implemented independently of the hardware and in particular also includes embodiments without physically separate scanning units;and(r) by combining features (j) to (q) a deterministic, media-break-free and consistent processing with defined control mechanisms is enforced.;
