Modular frame system for the passive protection of infrastructure

Abstract

Modular frame system for passive counter-UAS infrastructure protection, comprising: a plurality of frame modules, each frame module comprising at least two hollow structural profiles defining at least one panel receiving opening; at least one open mesh panel received in the panel receiving opening of a frame module, forming a passive physical barrier against UAV penetration; a plurality of connecting elements linking adjacent frame modules, the connecting elements being actuated by one of the following: manual actuation without tools; manual actuation with a hand tool; or mechanical torque input with a power tool; wherein each connecting element, in the connected state, establishes an electrical contact resistance of not more than 0.1 ohms between the hollow structural profiles of adjacent frame modules, such that an electrically continuous network is formed across the assembled frame system;and wherein the frame system is operated as a passive counter-UAS protection system without high-frequency emissions.
