Abstract

Chlorophyll fluorescence LiDAR sensor for remote sensing of plant stress, comprising a laser unit configured to emit modulated excitation light onto a plant object; a detection unit configured to detect chlorophyll fluorescence emitted by the plant object and to separate it into a red channel (650 nm - 700 nm) and a far-red channel (725 nm - 775 nm); a processing and control unit configured to control the sensor and to process signals from the red channel and the far-red channel; a power supply unit configured to provide electrical power to the laser unit, the detection unit, and the processing and control unit;characterized in that the processing and control unit is configured to process the signals offline or online in real time, wherein the sensor is arranged in a portable housing and is configured to provide as outputs a red chlorophyll fluorescence transient signal, a far-red chlorophyll fluorescence transient signal and a distance value for the distance between the sensor and the plant object.
