(Main claim) A flexible measuring tape for determining a body circumference, in particular the waist circumference, comprising an elongated measuring tape body (1) having a scale area (2) and an end piece (4) arranged at one end, characterized in that the end piece (4) has a fixing opening (5) through which the measuring tape body (1) can be passed, so that a passed-through tape section (7) is formed, and that the fixing opening (5) has a substantially straight edge, which is designed as a reading and folding edge (6) on which the passed-through tape section (7) can be read to determine the circumference.
