Raised bed system for controlled water regulation, comprising a planting container with a closed bottom, a drainage layer arranged in the lower area, a water-permeable separating layer arranged above the drainage layer, a planting substrate and a drainage opening with an overflow to limit the water level, wherein a water storage area for storing irrigation or rainwater is formed below the planting substrate.
