Abstract

(Main claim - product) Conditioned lignocellulosic feedstock from Agave sisalana leaf residues, characterized in that the feedstock has a physicochemically stabilized material state defined by a combination of the following features: • a homogenized particle and fiber structure with a defined size distribution, • a reproducibly controlled moisture content, • a reduced mineral residue content, • an increased alpha-cellulose content compared to the starting material, • a controlled degree of polymerization (DP) in the processable range for NMMO-based lyocell systems, • and a defined bulk density for reproducible processing, wherein the combination of these features as a whole produces a lyocell-compatible feedstock state that is distinguishable from conventional lignocellulosic raw materials.
