Warning clothing with at least one sensor arrangement (2) for spatial monitoring and hazard detection and at least one device (3) for generating and emitting at least one warning signal, characterized in that the sensor arrangement (2) is located on a back part of the warning clothing, that the sensor arrangement (2) has environmental sensors in conjunction with a data processing system (4) for rear-area monitoring and rear-area hazard detection, wherein beam-based sensors, image-based sensors or a combination of at least one beam-based sensor and at least one image-based sensor are environmental sensors, that the data processing system (4) is connected to the device (3) for generating and emitting the warning signal and that the sensor arrangement (2) and the device (3) for generating and emitting the warning signal are connected to an electrical energy source (5).
