Shielding gas welding torch (1) comprising a handle (2) and a welding machine (5), wherein the handle (2) has a control unit (4) and is provided separately from the welding machine (5), and wherein at least one supply line (11) is arranged between the welding machine (5) and the handle (2), by means of which shielding gas, optionally oxygen and electrical energy can be conveyed from the welding machine (5) to the handle (2), and wherein the welding machine (5) has a control unit (6) by which the quantity of shielding gas, optionally oxygen and electrical energy, conveyed from the welding machine (5) to the handle (2) via the at least one supply line (11) is controlled.oxygen and electrical energy can be controlled, characterized in that the operating unit (4) communicates with a circuit board control (14) arranged outside the handle (2), preferably by means of one or more signal connection(s) (8), via which commands can be transmitted from the operating unit (4) in the handle (2) to the circuit board control (14) and from the circuit board control (14) to the control unit (6) in the welding machine (5).
