Device for the seasonal storage of excess electrical energy, comprising at least one electrical energy generation unit, at least one heat storage unit, at least one measuring device for recording excess electrical power, and a control unit, characterized in that the control unit is designed to automatically and without external intervention control heat generation depending on the recorded excess power in order to store thermal energy and make it available at a later time.
