Abstract

A brushless electric motor for power tools, comprising a control unit, a stator assembly and a rotor assembly, characterized in that the stator assembly is fixedly arranged in the housing of the power tool and comprises a stator lamination stack and a stator winding wound on the stator lamination stack, the rotor assembly is rotatably arranged within the stator assembly and comprises a rotor shaft, a rotor lamination stack attached to the rotor shaft and permanent magnets arranged on the rotor lamination stack, and that the control unit sequentially directs the current into the stator winding to generate a self-rotating magnetic field that excites the permanent magnets.
