Two-stage chamber mixer

Abstract

A mixing chamber comprising: a housing with a first inlet, a second inlet and an outlet; a first, a second and a third chamber arranged inside the housing;a decomposition tube arranged within the housing and defining the first chamber, wherein the decomposition tube has a first end in fluid communication with the first inlet and a second end spaced from the housing, wherein a first flow path extends in a first direction from the first inlet through the decomposition tube, wherein a gap is provided between the second end of the decomposition tube and the housing to define a second flow path extending in a second direction opposite to the first direction in the second chamber outside the decomposition tube, wherein the second inlet is in fluid communication with the second chamber, which defines a third flow path bypassing the decomposition tube and extending in the first direction;and a mixer arranged within the housing and having an opening that communicates with the second chamber, wherein the mixer defines a third chamber therein, the third chamber being in fluid communication with the outlet, wherein the second flow path and the third flow path intersect within the second chamber upstream of the mixer in opposite directions.
