Description

AREA OF INVENTION

[0001] The present application relates to furniture and in particular an extendable frame for furniture as well as a sofa with the extendable frame for furniture. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] With the ongoing development of the economy and the progress of society, more and more consumer goods are being provided to improve people's lives, with sofas being a common example.

[0003] Currently, adjustable floor-standing sofas with armrests are equipped with an internal extendable metal frame. This extendable metal frame includes a footrest mechanism, a seat cushion mechanism, and a backrest mechanism; through a series of mechanical couplings, the relative positions and angles of the seat cushion and backrest can be adjusted, allowing the sofa to switch between sitting, lounging, and fully reclined positions to meet user requirements.

[0004] For existing floor-standing sofas with armrests, a front locking frame is provided on the lower front part of the extendable metal frame to improve the aesthetic appearance of the sofa in the sitting position.

[0005] However, due to the introduction of the front locking frame, a larger gap must be left between the footrest mechanism of the extendable metal frame and the front locking frame; otherwise, the footrest mechanism could collide with the front locking frame during extension. This results in a large gap between the sofa in the seated position and the front locking frame.

[0006] Therefore, there is an urgent need for an extendable frame for furniture and a sofa to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] One objective of the present application is to provide an extendable frame for furniture that can prevent a front locking frame from interfering with the extension process of a footrest mechanism, while reducing the required gap.

[0008] Another objective of the present application is to provide a sofa that can prevent a front locking frame from interfering with the extension process of a footrest mechanism, while reducing the required gap.

[0009] To achieve the aforementioned objectives, the present application provides an extendable frame for furniture, comprising a base frame, a seat cushion frame, a footrest mechanism, a seat cushion frame control assembly, a connecting rod, a backrest mechanism, and a backrest control assembly driven by the seat cushion frame for controlling the angular adjustment of the backrest mechanism. The seat cushion frame is movable relative to the base frame in a front-to-back direction, and the backrest mechanism is mounted at a rear end of the seat cushion frame. The footrest mechanism is mounted on the seat cushion frame and is switchable relative to the seat cushion frame forward into an extended position or relative to the seat cushion frame backward into a retracted position, the footrest mechanism having at least one footrest pivot link articulated to the seat cushion frame. The seat cushion frame steering assembly is mounted between the seat cushion frame and the base frame to control a forward-backward movement of the seat cushion frame relative to the base frame; the seat cushion frame steering assembly comprises an outer linkage assembly which, together with the base frame, forms an outer multi-link structure, an inner linkage assembly which, together with the seat cushion frame, forms an inner multi-link structure, and a transmission assembly which couples the outer linkage assembly and the inner linkage assembly in a drive-connected manner. The inner linkage assembly comprises a front inner pivot link pivotally connected to the seat cushion frame, a rear inner pivot link pivotally connected to the seat cushion frame, and an inner intermediate link located below the seat cushion frame and extending in the front-to-back direction of the seat cushion frame, with the inner intermediate link pivotally connected to the rear inner pivot link. The backrest control assembly is pivotally connected to the backrest mechanism, a rear end of the base frame, and a rear end of the seat cushion frame. The connecting rod extends in the front-to-back direction of the seat cushion frame, with a front end of the connecting rod pivotally connected to the front inner pivot link. The extendable frame for furniture further comprises a lifting assembly for lifting the seat cushion frame forward and upward during a switching operation of the footrest mechanism from the retracted position to the extended position, wherein a rear end of the connecting rod is successively pivotally connected to the footrest swivel link and a front end of the lifting assembly, a rear end of the lifting assembly is pivotally connected to the front inner swivel link, and the lifting assembly is further pivotally connected at a position between the front end and the rear end of the lifting assembly to the inner intermediate link.During the switching process of the footrest mechanism from the retracted position to the extended position, the footrest mechanism drives the lifting assembly and the seat cushion frame control assembly via the connecting rod to move, so that while the seat cushion frame control assembly moves the seat cushion frame forward relative to the base frame, the lifting assembly also raises the seat cushion frame forward and upward relative to the base frame.

[0010] In contrast to the prior art, the design in which "the rear end of the connecting rod is successively pivotally connected to the footrest swivel link and the front end of the lifting assembly, the rear end of the lifting assembly is pivotally connected to the front inner swivel link, and the lifting assembly is furthermore pivotally connected to the inner intermediate link at a position between the front end and the rear end of the lifting assembly" ensures that, during the process of switching the footrest mechanism from the retracted position to the extended position, the footrest mechanism drives the lifting assembly and the seat cushion frame control assembly into motion via the connecting rod. Consequently, while the seat cushion frame control assembly moves the seat cushion frame forward relative to the base frame, the lifting assembly also controls the seat cushion frame so that it is raised forward and upward relative to the base frame. This allows the gap left between the front locking frame and the footrest mechanism to be reduced, and prevents the footrest mechanism from colliding with the front locking frame during extension.

[0011] Preferably, the rear end of the connecting rod is a bent structure curved backwards and downwards, a bend of the bent structure is pivotally connected to the footrest swivel link, and a position of the bent structure away from the bend is pivotally connected to the front end of the lifting assembly.

[0012] Preferably, the front end of the connecting rod is provided with a first front pivot point for articulated connection with the seat cushion frame, and the bending structure is provided with a first rear pivot point for articulated connection with the footrest swivel link and a second rear pivot point for articulated connection with the front end of the lifting assembly, and the second rear pivot point is located behind and below the first rear pivot point.

[0013] Preferably, the footrest swivel link is provided with a footrest pivot point for articulated connection with the seat cushion frame, wherein the footrest pivot point is located above the first rear pivot point; the seat cushion frame is provided with a seat cushion frame pivot point for articulated connection with the front inner swivel link, and the seat cushion frame pivot point is located below the first front pivot point.

[0014] Preferably, the lifting assembly comprises a first lever arm forming the front end of the lifting assembly and a second lever arm forming the rear end of the lifting assembly, wherein the second lever arm extends in the front-to-rear direction of the seat cushion frame, a front end of the second lever arm is pivotally connected to the front inner pivot link, a rear end of the second lever arm is pivotally connected to a lower end of the first lever arm, the second lever arm is pivotally connected to the inner intermediate link at a position between the front end and the rear end of the second lever arm, and an upper end of the first lever arm is pivotally connected to the rear end of the connecting rod.

[0015] Preferably, the front end of the second lever arm is a downwardly curved structure, and one end of the curved structure is pivotally connected to a lower end of the front inner pivot arm.

[0016] Preferably, the inner intermediate link is provided with a support structure projecting in a left-right direction of the seat cushion frame, and an upper surface of the second lever arm supports the support structure.

[0017] Preferably, an outer cross-sectional contour of the support structure is circular, the top of the second lever arm is provided with an arc-shaped recess adapted to the support structure, and the support structure is supported in the arc-shaped recess.

[0018] Preferably, the arc-shaped recess is located on the inner intermediate link between pivot points where the inner intermediate link is connected to the rear inner pivot link and the second lever link.

[0019] To achieve the aforementioned objectives, the present application provides a sofa comprising a backrest, a seat cushion and the aforementioned extendable furniture frame, wherein the backrest is mounted on the backrest adjustment mechanism and the seat cushion is mounted on the seat cushion frame. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EXECUTION EXAMPLES SHOWN

[0020] Preferred embodiments of the present application are described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings contained in the description.

[0021] With reference to Fig. 1 to Fig. 3. The sofa 1000 of the present application comprises an extendable furniture frame 100, a backrest 200, and a seat cushion 300. The backrest 200 is mounted on the backrest mechanism 70 described below, and the seat cushion 300 is mounted on the seat cushion frame 20 described below. On this basis, the sofa 1000 of the present application can be divided between the one described in Fig. 1 shown sitting posture, which is in Fig. 2 lounge postures shown and the one in Fig. The 3 fully reclined posture states shown can be switched, thus better meeting user requirements. In particular, this includes, in Fig. 1 to Fig. As an example, the sofa 1000 of the present application further comprises side covers 400, a footrest frame 500 mounted on the footrest mechanism 30 described below, and a front locking frame 600 arranged on the front lower part of the extendable frame for furniture 100. The side covers 400 are arranged side by side and spaced apart to the left and right, and both the backrest 200 and the seat cushion 300 are located between the left side cover 400 and the right side cover 400. The left and right ends of the front locking frame 600 are rigidly connected to the side covers 400 on the same side, so that the strength between the left and right side covers 400 is increased under the action of the front locking frame 600. Furthermore, the extendable frame for furniture 100 is located between the left and right side covers 400.A base frame 10 (described below) of the extendable frame for furniture 100 is rigidly connected to the side covers 400, which provide a mounting point and support for the extendable frame for furniture 100. When the sofa 1000 of the present application is in the position shown in . Fig. In the seated position shown in Figure 1, the gap 700 between the footrest mechanism 30 of the extendable frame for furniture 100 and the front locking frame 600 can be made smaller, as shown in Figure 1. Fig. 1 shown.

[0022] With further reference to Fig. 4 to Fig. The extendable frame for furniture 100 comprises a base frame 10, a seat cushion frame 20, a footrest mechanism 30, a seat cushion frame control assembly 40, a connecting rod 50a, a lifting assembly 50b, a backrest control assembly 60, and a backrest mechanism 70. The seat cushion frame 20 is movable relative to the base frame 10 in the front-back direction of the base frame 10.

[0023] The backrest mechanism 70 is mounted at a rear end 21 of the seat cushion frame 20, which provides support and a mounting point for the backrest mechanism 70, and can move forwards and backwards together with the seat cushion frame 20 relative to the base frame 10.

[0024] The footrest mechanism 30 is mounted on the seat cushion frame 20; for example, the footrest mechanism 30 is mounted at a position on the seat cushion frame 20 that is located away from its rear end 21, such as, but not limited to, a front end 22 of the seat cushion frame 20. The footrest mechanism 30 can be mounted rearward relative to the seat cushion frame 20 in a position 21 that is located at a position 21 away from the rear end 21 of the seat cushion frame 20. Fig. 9 or Fig. 10 shown retracted position or relative to the seat cushion frame 20 forward into a position in Fig. 11 or Fig. The extended position shown in Figure 12 can be switched to meet user requirements. The footrest mechanism 30 has two footrest swivel arms articulated to the seat cushion frame 20 and arranged one behind the other, namely a front footrest swivel arm 31 and a rear footrest swivel arm 32.

[0025] The seat cushion frame control assembly 40 is mounted between the seat cushion frame 20 and the base frame 10 and serves to control the forward-backward movement of the seat cushion frame 20 relative to the base frame 10. In particular, the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 comprises an outer linkage assembly 41, which together with the base frame 10 forms an outer four-bar linkage structure, an inner linkage assembly 42, which together with the seat cushion frame 20 forms an inner four-bar linkage structure, and a transmission assembly 43, which couples the outer linkage assembly 41 and the inner linkage assembly 42 in a drive-connected manner. The inner link assembly 42 comprises a front inner pivot link 421, which is pivotally connected to the seat cushion frame 20, a rear inner pivot link 422, which is pivotally connected to the seat cushion frame 20, and an inner intermediate link 423, which is located below the seat cushion frame 20 and extends in the front-to-rear direction of the seat cushion frame 20. The inner intermediate link 423 is pivotally connected to the rear inner pivot link 422 and forms a pivot point R2, as shown in Figure 1. Fig. 5 shown.

[0026] A front end 51 of the connecting rod 50a is pivotally connected to the front inner pivot link 421. A rear end 52 of the connecting rod 50a is pivotally connected successively to the rear footrest pivot link 32 and to a front end (indicated by reference numeral 53) of the lifting assembly 50b. The lifting assembly 50b raises the seat cushion frame 20 forward and upward during the switching process of the footrest mechanism 30 from the retracted position to the extended position. A rear end (indicated by reference numeral 54) of the lifting assembly 50b is pivotally connected to the front inner pivot link 421. The lifting assembly 50b is also pivotally connected to the inner intermediate link 423 at a position between the front and rear ends of the lifting assembly. Thus, the footrest mechanism 30 is coupled via the connecting rod 50a and the lifting assembly 50b to the inner linkage assembly 42, which controls the movement of the seat cushion frame 20, thereby preventing play in the coupling between the footrest mechanism 30 and the seat cushion frame 20. Furthermore, it is ensured that the extension and retraction of the footrest mechanism 30 is faster than the forward-backward movement of the seat cushion frame 20 relative to the base frame 10, and that the seat cushion frame 20 is also raised during the forward movement relative to the base frame 10, thereby reducing the gap 700 between the footrest mechanism 30 and the front locking frame 600.

[0027] The backrest control assembly 60 is articulated to the backrest mechanism 70, the rear end 11 of the base frame 10, and the rear end 21 of the seat cushion frame 20. The backrest control assembly 60 is also driven to move by the seat cushion frame 20; that is, during the movement of the seat cushion frame 20, the seat cushion frame 20 also drives the backrest control assembly 60 to move relative to the base frame 10.

[0028] Therefore, during the switching process from the retracted position to the extended position, the footrest mechanism 30 drives the lifting assembly 50b and the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 via the connecting rod 50a. While the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 moves the seat cushion frame 20 forward relative to the base frame 10, the lifting assembly 50b also controls the seat cushion frame 20 so that it is raised forward and upward relative to the base frame 10. Consequently, the backrest mechanism 70 can follow the seat cushion frame 20 and be raised from the Fig. 1 starting position shown in the Fig. Switch to the intermediate position shown in point 2. During the process, in which the backrest mechanism 70 follows the seat cushion frame 20 and is moved from the position shown in Fig. 2 shown predetermined intermediate position into the in Fig. When the end position shown in 3 is switched, the backrest control assembly 60 controls (couples) the backrest mechanism 70 to perform an angle adjustment, thereby achieving the required angle adjustment of the backrest 200 mounted on the backrest mechanism 70.

[0029] It should be noted that during the switching process of the sofa 1000 of the present application from the sitting posture state to the fully reclined posture state, when the footrest mechanism 30 switches from the retracted position to the extended position, the footrest mechanism 30 drives the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 and the lifting assembly 50b together via the connecting rod 50a in order to switch the seat cushion frame 20 from the initial position to the predetermined intermediate position, thereby placing the sofa 1000 into the lounge posture state. When the sofa 1000 is in the lounge position and the seat cushion frame 20 is then switched further from the predetermined intermediate position to the end position, the backrest control assembly 60 controls (couples) the backrest mechanism 70 for movement, thereby adjusting the angle of the backrest 200 by following the backrest mechanism 70, thus switching the sofa 1000 from the lounge position to the fully reclined position. Further details are described below.

[0030] As in Fig. 5 and Fig. As shown in Figure 6, in one example, the rear end 52 of the connecting rod 50a is a bent structure curved backwards and downwards. That is, the reference numeral 52 also designates the bent structure. A bend 521 of the bent structure 52 is pivotally connected to the rear footrest swivel link 32, and a position of the bent structure 52 remote from bend 521 is pivotally connected to the front end of the lifting assembly 50b, as shown in Figure 6. Fig. Figure 6 shows that such a configuration enables the connecting rod 50a to drive the lifting assembly 50b more reliably.

[0031] In particular, in Fig. 5, Fig. 6, Fig. 9, Fig. 11 and Fig. 13 As an example, the front end 51 of the connecting rod 50a is provided with a first front pivot point 511 for articulated connection with the seat cushion frame 20. The bending structure 52 is provided with a first rear pivot point 522 for articulated connection with the rear footrest swivel link 32 and a second rear pivot point 523 for articulated connection with the front end of the lifting assembly 50b. The second rear pivot point 523 is located behind and below the first rear pivot point 522, as shown in Fig. 5 and Fig. Figure 6 shows how to further increase the reliability of driving the lifting assembly 50b by the connecting rod 50a. Furthermore, in Fig. 5, Fig. 6, Fig. 9, Fig. 11 and Fig. 13 As an example, the rear footrest swivel link 32 is provided with a footrest pivot point 32a for articulated connection with the seat cushion frame 20, wherein the footrest pivot point 32a is located above the first rear pivot point 522. Such a configuration ensures that when the seat cushion frame 20 is switched to the initial position, the predetermined intermediate position, or the end position, the front end 51 of the connecting rod 50a is always located in front of and above the rear end 52 of the connecting rod 50a, thereby ensuring that the connecting rod 50a does not undergo any transitions between compressive and tensile stress during the switching of the seat cushion frame 20, so that no perceptible play is present during operation. Additionally, in Fig. 5, Fig. 6, Fig. 9, Fig. 11 and Fig. 13 as an example the seat cushion frame 20 is provided with a seat cushion frame pivot point R3 for articulated connection with the front inner pivot arm 421, wherein the seat cushion frame pivot point R3 is located below the first front pivot point 511, such that the front end 51 of the connecting rod 50a is always arranged in front of and above the rear end 52 of the connecting rod 50a.

[0032] As in Fig. 5 to Fig. As shown in Figure 8, in one example, the lifting assembly 50b comprises a first lever arm, which forms the front end of the lifting assembly 50b, and a second lever arm, which forms the rear end of the lifting assembly 50b. That is, reference numeral 53 also designates the first lever arm, and reference numeral 54 also designates the second lever arm. The second lever arm 54 extends in the front-to-rear direction of the seat cushion frame 20. A front end 541 of the second lever arm 54 is pivotally connected to the front inner pivot link 421. A rear end 542 of the second lever arm 54 is pivotally connected to a lower end 531 of the first lever arm 53. The second lever arm 54 is pivotally connected to the inner intermediate link 423 at a position between the front end 541 and the rear end 542 of the second lever arm 54. An upper end 532 of the first lever arm 53 is pivotally connected to the rear end 52 of the connecting rod 50a, as shown in [reference]. Fig. 12 and Fig. 14 shown. This configuration effectively simplifies the structure of the lifting assembly 50b.

[0033] In particular, in Fig. 6 As an example, the front end 541 of the second lever arm 54 is a downwardly curved structure. That is, the reference numeral 541 also designates the curved structure. One end of the curved structure 541 is pivotally connected to a lower end of the front inner pivot arm 421, thereby making the connection between the front end 541 of the second lever arm 54 and the front inner pivot arm 421 more compact. Furthermore, in Fig. 10 as an example, the inner intermediate link 423 is provided with a support structure 423a that projects in the left-right direction of the seat cushion frame 20. A top surface 543 of the second lever arm 54 supports the support structure 423a to increase the support capability of the second lever arm 54 for the inner intermediate link 423. Optionally, in Fig. Figure 10 shows, as an example, a circular outer cross-sectional contour of the support structure 423a. The upper surface 543 of the second lever arm 54 is provided with an arcuate recess 5431 that is adapted to the support structure 423a; in particular, the support structure 423a is supported and received in the arcuate recess 5431. The arcuate recess 5431 is located on the inner intermediate link 423 between pivot points R1 (R2), at which the inner intermediate link 423 is connected to the rear inner pivot link 422 and the second lever arm 54, respectively. Reference numeral R1 designates the pivot point between the inner intermediate link 423 and the second lever arm 54, and reference numeral R2 designates the pivot point between the inner intermediate link 423 and the rear inner pivot link 422, as shown in Figure 10. Fig. 12 shown to increase the support capability of the second lever arm 54 for the inner intermediate link 423.

[0034] The process of adjusting the sofa 1000 of the present application from the sitting position to the fully reclined position is described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0035] If the sofa is 1000 times the size of the one in Fig. 1 shown sitting posture in the in Fig. To adjust the sofa to the lounge position shown in Figure 2, the footrest mechanism 30 extends forward. The extending footrest mechanism 30 drives the lifting assembly 50b and the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 via the connecting rod 50a. While the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 moves the seat cushion frame 20 forward relative to the base frame 10, the lifting assembly 50b also controls the seat cushion frame 20 so that it is raised forward and upward relative to the base frame 10, thus adjusting the sofa 1000 from the position shown in Figure 2. Fig. 1 shown sitting posture in the in Fig. The lounge position shown in section 2 is achieved. If the sofa is 1000 degrees from the position shown in the image... Fig. 1 shown sitting posture in the in Fig. When the sofa is adjusted to the lounge position shown in Figure 2, the footrest mechanism 30 continues to move the seat cushion frame 20 forward together with the backrest mechanism 70. Under the control of the backrest control assembly 60, the angle of the backrest swivel frame 73 is adjusted, thereby moving the sofa 1000 into the fully reclined position, as shown in Figure 2. Fig. 3 shown.

[0036] In comparison to the prior art, the design in which "the rear end 52 of the connecting rod 50a is successively articulated to the footrest swivel link 32 and the front end of the lifting assembly 50b, the rear end of the lifting assembly 50b is articulated to the front inner swivel link 421 and the lifting assembly 50b is furthermore articulated to the inner intermediate link 423 at a position between the front end and the rear end of the lifting assembly 50b" ensures that during the process in which the footrest mechanism 30 switches from the retracted position to the extended position, the footrest mechanism 30 drives the lifting assembly 50b and the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 to movement via the connecting rod 50a.Consequently, while the seat cushion frame control assembly 40 moves the seat cushion frame 20 forward relative to the base frame 10, the lifting assembly 50b also controls the seat cushion frame 20 so that it is raised forward and upward relative to the base frame 10. This allows the gap 700 left between the front locking frame 600 and the footrest mechanism 30 to be reduced, and prevents the footrest mechanism 30 from colliding with the front locking frame 600 during extension.

[0037] It should be noted that the direction indicated by arrow A in the drawings is the direction of the base frame 10 from back to front, the direction indicated by arrow B in the drawings is the direction of the seat cushion frame 200 from left to right, and the direction indicated by arrow C in the drawings is the direction of the base frame 10 from bottom to top. Additionally, in Fig. 4 to Fig.14 the direction from reference sign 21 to reference sign 22 the direction of the seat cushion frame 20 from back to front.
