Abstract

Control panel module for a household appliance, characterized in that the control panel module (1) comprises: a printed circuit board (2); and a transparent control panel (3) arranged on one side of the printed circuit board (2) and normal to the printed circuit board (2), wherein at least one light-emitting element (4) is arranged on the printed circuit board (2) along an edge (E) of the transparent control panel (3), from which light from the edge (E) of the transparent control panel (3) can enter the transparent control panel (3) in order to illuminate one or more symbols (L) on the transparent control panel (3), wherein an infrared control unit (5) is assigned to each symbol (L) on the printed circuit board (2), wherein the infrared control unit (5) is arranged at a distance from the light-emitting element (4) on a user-facing side in order to detect touch operation of the corresponding symbol (L) by the user.
