A system for the automated production of hose assemblies, each with two connecting fittings attached to the end of a hose section (2), comprising at least a parts supply held in an input zone (1), a preparation station (10) for pre-assembling the hose section (2) and connecting fittings, a crimping station (13) for mechanically crimping the connecting fittings of the pre-assembled workpiece, and an output zone (14) with an intermediate hose assembly storage area (15), with the following features: - At least one stationary industrial robot (17) is provided, which is equipped with optical component recognition and a gripping device (18); - the at least one industrial robot (17) is positioned and designed in such a way that it can reach the input zone (1), the preparation station (10), the crimping station (13), and the output zone (14);- the at least one industrial robot (17) is equipped for removing the connection fittings from the parts supply, handling the removed connection fittings, loading the assembly station (10) and the pressing station (13), removing the hose assembly from the pressing station (13) and placing the hose assembly in the hose assembly intermediate storage (15), and for all intermediate workpiece transports between the stations.
