Device for removing electrostatic surface charges from surfaces operated at DC high voltage potential, comprising an electrically insulating grounding rod and an antistatic extension arranged at a first end region of the grounding rod, wherein the antistatic extension has an electrically conductive support element on which a plurality of electrically conductive wiper elements are arranged, and wherein an electrically conductive coupling fitting is arranged at the first end region of the grounding rod, which has a connection element for connection to a grounding conductor.
