Abstract

A coating for decoherence of a reflected electromagnetic signal, comprising a matrix with electrically conductive and / or semiconducting functional inclusions distributed therein, characterized in that the functional inclusions are spatially inhomogeneously distributed in the matrix with: • a local concentration of the inclusions, which is between 5 vol.% and 60 vol.% in the first regions and below 5 vol.% in the second region.% varies in second areas,• a size distribution of inclusions in the range of 0.1 µm to 50 µm,• a mean distance between adjacent inclusions that is 0.5 to 10 times the mean inclusion size, forming a partially percolating conductive network structure, the spatially inhomogeneous distribution being formed over a layer thickness of the coating from 50 µm to 5 mm and generating local changes in electromagnetic impedance that cause a phase shift of the reflected components in the range of 0 to 2π without a dominant resonant peak.
