Stator cap for an electric motor

Abstract

An electric motor comprising: a stator assembly with a stator core having a plurality of stator teeth and a plurality of stator coils, each stator coil being wound around one of the stator teeth; a rotor assembly positioned within the stator assembly and rotatable relative thereto; and a stator cap coupled to the stator assembly and configured to direct an airflow through the stator assembly, the stator cap having a channel with a first opening and a second opening, the second opening facing the stator assembly, and the airflow being directed through the channel in a first direction from the first opening to the second opening or in a second direction from the second opening to the first opening.
