A device for winding and unwinding ropes, characterized in that it comprises: a rotary knob (10) comprising a cover plate (11), a first drive (12) and a first engagement section (13) provided on an inner side of the cover plate (11); a ratchet ring (20) comprising a side wall structure (21) with a first through-hole (24) and a ratchet arm (22) provided on one side of the side wall structure (21), wherein the cover plate (11) covers the ratchet ring (20) and the ratchet arm (22) is used to engage the first drive (12); wherein the ratchet ring (20) further comprises two first wire holes (23), the first wire holes (23) penetrating the side wall structure (21);and a wire reel (30) rotatably provided in the ratchet ring (20) and comprising two opposing flanges (31), a winding section (32) provided between the two flanges (31) and two second wire holes (33) provided on the winding section (32), wherein the second wire holes (33) penetrate the winding section (32); wherein the wire reel (30) further comprises a second engagement section (34) which engages the first engagement section (13), wherein the second engagement section (34) is provided on one of the flanges (31);wherein the rotary knob (10) has a locking position and an unlocking position, wherein the rotary knob (10) can be switched between the locking position and the unlocking position by pulling it up or pushing it down, wherein when the rotary knob (10) is in the locking position, the first engagement section (13) engages with the second engagement section (34) so ​​that the rotary knob (10) rotates the wire reel (30) in a first direction; wherein the first drive (12) engages with the pawl arm (22) to prevent rotation of the rotary knob (10) in a second direction opposite to the first direction, so that the rotary knob (10) can only rotate in the first direction, wherein an external rope is passed through the first wire holes (23) and the second wire holes (33); wherein, when the rotary knob (10) is rotated in the first direction, it causes the rope to wind around the winding section (32);wherein, when the rotary knob (10) is in the unlocked position, the first engagement section (13) is separated from the second engagement section (34), wherein the first drive (12) is separated from the pawl arm (22) so that the rotary knob (10) can rotate in the first direction or in the second direction and the external rope can be released from the winding section (32).
