Abstract
A system for networked dental diagnostics and data acquisition, comprising: a sensor unit configured for intraoral placement, wherein the sensor unit comprises a plurality of sensors for detecting the dental condition, including at least one optical image sensor, at least one thermal sensor element, at least one pH sensor element, and at least one pressure sensor element, arranged to generate multimodal diagnostic signals corresponding to the condition of the dental tissue; a signal processing unit electrically connected to the sensor unit, comprising an amplification circuit, a noise filter circuit, and an analog-to-digital conversion circuit configured to convert the generated diagnostic signals into digitized dental condition data;a processing unit operationally coupled to the signal conditioning unit, wherein the processing unit comprises at least one microprocessor and a memory and is configured to perform data normalization, temporal synchronization of multimodal data streams, and feature extraction related to dental anomalies; a communication unit coupled to the processing unit, wherein the communication unit comprises a wireless transmission circuit configured to transmit the processed dental condition data over a network to a remote diagnostic station; and a power supply configured to provide regulated electrical power to the sensor unit, the signal conditioning unit, the processing unit, and the communication unit.
