Abstract

A system for the synthesis, characterization, and application of polymer-ferrite hybrid nanocomposites in the environmental field, comprising: a polymer synthesis unit configured for the synthesis of poly(m-aminophenol) by chemical polymerization using ammonium persulfate as an oxidizing agent; a ferrite nanoparticle synthesis unit for the synthesis of metal ferrite nanoparticles selected from the group consisting of manganese ferrite, cobalt ferrite, and combinations thereof; a hybrid nanocomposite manufacturing unit configured to synthesize polymer-ferrite hybrid nanocomposites by combining poly(m-aminophenol) with metal ferrite nanoparticles via chemical oxidative polymerization; and a photocatalytic reactor unit designed for environmental remediation applications and equipped for pollutant degradation testing.
