Abstract

A system (100) for improving the efficiency of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) using API-to-database integration for real-time querying of flight information, wherein the system (100) comprises: an IVR interaction engine (1) configured to receive a passenger's voice input, DTMF input, or call-based request and derive a flight-related request from it; an intent detection module (2) functionally coupled with the IVR interaction engine (1) and configured to identify at least one flight service intent selected from flight status, departure time, arrival time, delay, cancellation, gate change, baggage claim information, or route information; an API orchestration module (3) configured to generate optimized API requests and transmit them to one or more external flight information systems;a secure API communication module (4) configured to authenticate API access, apply rate limits, manage timeout conditions, and analyze API responses received from airline systems, airport databases, flight tracking systems, flight planning systems, or external aviation data providers; a data transformation engine (5) configured to transform heterogeneous API response data into normalized, IVR-compatible response structures; a database synchronization layer (6) configured to store, index, update, and synchronize the normalized flight information in a local or distributed database; an intelligent caching module (7) configured to reduce repetitive API calls and enable low-latency access to frequently requested flight data;a dynamic voice response generator (8) configured to generate a voice-enabled response using normalized flight information and context-aware response templates; a fault-tolerant failover engine (9) configured to maintain the continuity of the IVR service in the event of API failures, delayed API responses, or degradation of external systems; and a monitoring and freshness check module (10) configured to continuously monitor data freshness, response latency, API availability, and operational integrity, wherein the system (100) retrieves real-time flight information through API and database integration and delivers automated IVR responses with reduced latency and improved reliability.
