Internal cable strain relief on a connector

Abstract

Connector (1) comprising: a housing (8) with a housing base (6) and a housing cover (7); at least one contact element with an insulating body (2) arranged inside the housing (8); at least one cable gland (5) arranged on the housing (8) and designed to seal a feed-through opening of the housing (8) in a media-tight manner; a strain relief rail (9) arranged inside the housing (8); and at least one cable clamp (4) attached to the strain relief rail (9) and designed to secure the at least one electrical cable (3) to the strain relief rail (9); wherein the strain relief rail (9) is arranged between the at least one cable gland (5) and the at least one contact element with an insulating body (2), such that mechanical loads from the at least one electrical cable (3) are absorbed by the strain relief rail (9).
