Abstract

A ratchet (10) for transmitting a torque to a workpiece, comprising: a) a swivel head ratchet (12) with an output element, in particular a drive square (34); b) a connecting rod (14) pivotably connected to the swivel head ratchet (12) via a joint (16); c) a locking element (28) which, in a locking position, positively locks the swivel head ratchet (12) and the connecting rod (14) against each other in a set pivot position; d) a spring element, in particular a spring (24), wherein the spring element biases the locking element (28) in the direction of the locking position; and e) an actuating element, in particular a push button (22), by actuating which the locking element (28) can be moved from the locking position to an unlocking position against the force of the spring element (24), characterized in that f) the actuating element (22), the spring element (24),a guide element (26) and the locking element (28) are combined to form a self-retaining locking assembly (20) that can be handled as a unit before being inserted into a receptacle (36), in which the spring element (24) is captured, and g) the locking assembly (20) is arranged in the receptacle (36) of the swivel head ratchet (12) and the linkage rod (14) and is held there in a captive manner without a screw connection and without a separate fastening element.
