Abstract

An ice cube tray comprising: a lid; and a shell body configured to interact with the lid, the shell body having an edge section made of a rigid material and adapted to engage with the lid; and multiple ice cube tray compartments, each ice cube tray compartment comprising: a shelf section spaced apart from the edge section; and a sidewall structure extending between the edge section and the shelf section, comprising at least one compressible sidewall section made of a flexible material;wherein the at least one compressible side wall section is configured such that, in response to an external actuating force, it undergoes a reversible, inward folding pattern, the inward folding pattern reducing the height of the respective ice cube tray compartment, so that the tray body is deformable between an unfolded configuration in which the ice cube tray compartments define ice storage volumes and a compact configuration with a reduced overall height.
