Description

[0001] The invention relates to a kitchen box for camping and leisure activities for storing kitchen utensils and preparing food. The kitchen box comprises a lid and a box-shaped base with a bottom, two side walls, a back wall, a front wall, and an opening opposite the bottom, wherein the lid is pivotally attached to the back wall by at least one lid hinge about a pivot axis running parallel to the bottom and closes the kitchen box in a rest position.

[0002] Such a kitchen box is known, for example, from DE 20 2022 100 642 U1. The kitchen box allows for the compact storage, secure locking, and transport of kitchen utensils such as a gas stove, pots and pans, dishes and cutlery, or even spices. In the previously known kitchen box, the lid is completely detachable from the base. A multiplex panel is also attached to the outside of the lid, which, when the lid is removed, serves as a tabletop surface, with the lid then resting on a separate support frame. EP 3 701 834 A1 discloses a modular, portable, and convertible kitchen arrangement for outdoor cooking, comprising a portable kitchen set.

[0003] The invention is based on the objective of providing a kitchen box of the aforementioned type, the functionality of which is further increased.

[0004] The problem is solved according to the invention by a kitchen box according to claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in dependent claims 2-9.

[0005] The kitchen box according to the invention has at least one table leg with a foot end and an opposing contact end equipped with a permanent magnet. In a first working position of the kitchen box, in which the lid is opened 180° around the pivot axis relative to its rest position, the permanent magnet, together with a counter magnet of the kitchen box positioned on the inside of the lid, secures the table leg with its contact end on the outside of the lid. In this first working position of the kitchen box, the inside of the lid functions as a tabletop. This tabletop is held in place by the at least one lid hinge and supported against the floor by the at least one table leg. This design eliminates the need for a separate table frame to support the tabletop. The base itself supports the tabletop and, through its own weight, simultaneously prevents lateral movement of the tabletop. This means that at least one table leg is sufficient to fully support the tabletop and provide a sufficiently stable table. This at least one table leg is stored inside the kitchen box when the lid is closed. It is preferably designed as a length-adjustable telescopic table leg. Furthermore, by using the inside of the lid as the tabletop instead of the outside, the tabletop remains protected from dirt and other external influences during transport of the kitchen box when the lid is closed.

[0006] In its first working position, the table leg rests with one end on a surface. At the end of the table leg opposite this foot end, a contact end with a flat contact surface is positioned, equipped with a permanent magnet. To move the lid into its first working position, the lid is pivoted 180° outwards from its resting position, and the table leg is positioned with its contact end against the outside of the lid. A counter magnet is positioned on the inside of the lid directly above the permanent magnet, i.e., in an imaginary extension of the table leg. The permanent magnet and the counter magnet attract each other, thereby fixing the table leg to the lid located between the permanent magnet and the counter magnet.

[0007] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the kitchen box has a support element that is fixed to the rear wall and pivotable about a pivot axis perpendicular to the pivot axis of the lid hinge from a rest position to a support position. In its rest position, the support element does not impede the pivoting movement of the lid, and in the support position, it prevents the lid from pivoting beyond an opening angle of more than 115°, particularly more than 110° and especially preferably more than 105°, thus supporting the lid in a second working position. This design allows for flexible pivoting of the lid while simultaneously preventing any further pivoting beyond the specified opening angle. As a result, the lid can perform a variety of other functions while remaining firmly connected to the base of the kitchen box via the lid hinge.

[0008] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the support element is in its rest position in the first working position of the kitchen box and in its support position in a second working position, in which the lid is open for free access to the kitchen box but is not supported against a surface on which the kitchen box stands by means of at least one table leg. In both its second working position and the support position of the support element, the lid rests on the support element. Thus, in this advantageous embodiment of the invention, the lid can assume three positions. In its rest position, the lid closes the top opening of the kitchen box. In its first working position, the lid serves as a table, with the inside of the lid forming the surface of the tabletop.Simultaneously, the lid opens the top of the kitchen storage box, allowing access to its contents. In the second working position, the lid simply opens the top of the kitchen storage box. In this position, the lid does not need to be manually prevented from further swiveling, as it rests on the support element.

[0009] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a magnetic rail is arranged on the inside of the lid. This magnetic rail includes a permanent magnet. Magnetic kitchen utensils can be attached to this magnetic rail when the lid is in its resting position or in the second working position. In the resting position, these kitchen utensils can be transported in a stable manner. In the second working position of the lid, the kitchen utensils are readily accessible at their designated positions when the lid is open.

[0010] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, an intermediate shelf is arranged in the base body between the base and the lid in the rest position. This intermediate shelf defines a storage compartment bounded on all sides by the base body and the base, which is accessible via a flap in the front wall. This design provides better subdivision of the storage space available in the kitchen box. At the same time, part of the storage space, in the form of the storage compartment, remains accessible even when the lid, in its rest position, closes the opening to the kitchen box from the top, or when access to the kitchen box via the opening is restricted by kitchen utensils located there, such as a gas burner or a shelf.

[0011] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a drawer with an upper shelf is arranged in the base body. This drawer is designed to be extendable from the base body on rails through an opening in one of the side walls. This design allows the storage area provided by the kitchen box to be increased or facilitates easy access to the interior of the kitchen box below the shelf. In a preferred embodiment, a storage compartment is located below the upper shelf. Preferably, this storage compartment is dimensioned such that at least two of the table legs can be stored in it when the table legs are not in use.

[0012] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, support rails are arranged in the base body parallel to the front and rear walls. A shelf rests on these rails and can be pulled out of the base body together with the drawer through the side wall opening. The shelf can therefore either remain in the kitchen unit itself and be supported by the support rails, or it can be pulled out of the kitchen unit along with the drawer and then serve as a shelf outside the unit. Advantageously, the shelf rests on the upper surface of the drawer. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the shelf itself forms the upper surface of the drawer.

[0013] Advantageously, the shelf has two long sides, two short sides, and an underside with a profiled surface. The profiles on the long sides engage with complementary profiles on rails arranged parallel to the front and back walls within the base. The shelf is also removable from the rails and, when the lid is open, can be rotated 90° so that the profiles on the short sides engage with the opening edges of the front and back panels below the lid. The shelf can therefore remain on the rails and be used there. Alternatively, it can be removed from the rails, rotated 90°, and then its profiles on the two short sides engage with the opening edges of the front and back panels below the lid—that is, the edges that frame the opening of the kitchen box at the front and back. This makes the shelf even more versatile. The spacing of the profiles on the transverse sides ideally corresponds to the distance between the opening edges of the front and back. This allows the shelf to be placed on the opening edges of the kitchen box, and the profiles, which engage with the opening edges, prevent it from slipping towards the back or front.

[0014] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the kitchen box has exactly two table legs that can be reversibly fixed to the outside of the lid. It has been shown that this allows the lid to be supported particularly stably against a surface in the first working position, while simultaneously minimizing the amount of material, and therefore weight and space, required for storing the table legs in the kitchen box.

[0015] Further advantageous embodiments and details of the invention can be seen in the schematic embodiment explained below, which shows: Fig. 1 shows a kitchen box according to the invention with a closed lid in a top view of the lid, Fig. 2 shows the object made of Fig. 1 in a front view of the front of the kitchen box, Fig. 3 the object according to the invention. Fig. 1 with a lid pivoted by 180° in its first working position in side view, Fig. 5, the object from Fig. 4 in a top view, Fig. 6 the kitchen box according to the invention from claim 1 in a side view with open lid and Fig. 7 the object made of Fig. 5 with the lid, drawer, and storage compartment open, shown from the front.

[0016] Subsequently, equivalent elements of the invention will be provided with a uniform reference numeral, where appropriate. The features and details of the invention described below may also be the subject of the invention in combinations other than those shown in the exemplary embodiment.

[0017] The Figures 1 to 3 Figure 1 shows a kitchen box 2 according to the invention for camping and leisure activities for storing kitchen utensils and preparing food, with a lid 4 closing the kitchen box, from various angles. The kitchen box comprises a box-shaped base 6 with a bottom 8, two side walls 10, 12, a back wall 14, a front wall 16, and an opening 40 opposite the bottom 8. The lid 4 is pivotally attached to the back wall 14 by two lid hinges 18 about a pivot axis 20 running parallel to the bottom 8. The lid 4 closes in its Figures 1 to 3The kitchen box 2 is shown in the depicted resting position.

[0018] In the exemplary embodiment, the kitchen box 2 has exactly two table legs 22, each with a foot end 24 and a support end 28 opposite the foot end, which is provided with a permanent magnet 26, as shown in Fig. 4 depicted. In Fig. 4 In this perspective, only the front table leg 22 facing the viewer can be seen, and not the analogously designed second table leg located behind it. Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 Figure 1 shows a first working position of the kitchen box 2, in which the lid 4 is opened with an opening angle α of 180° around the pivot axis relative to the rest position. The permanent magnet 26, together with a counter magnet 32 attached to the inside 30 of the lid 4, secures the table leg 22, which is positioned with its contact end 28 against the outside 34 of the lid 4. The positions of the two counter magnets 32 are shown in the Fig. 5As can be seen, a table leg 22 is also arranged below the lid 4 at each of these points.

[0019] The kitchen box 2 has a support element 36 which is in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 The support element 36 is fixed to the rear wall 14 and is designed to pivot from a rest position to a support position about a pivot axis 38 perpendicular to the pivot axis 20 of the cover hinge 18. The rest position is in Fig. 5 to be seen. The supporting position, however, is in Fig. 6 The support element 36 does not obstruct the pivoting movement of the cover 4 in the rest position. However, the support element 36 prevents the cover from pivoting in the rest position. Fig. 6 In the illustrated support position, a pivoting movement of the lid 2 over an opening angle α of the lid of more than 115°, in particular more than 110° and especially preferably more than 105°, wherein the support element 36 supports the lid 4.

[0020] The support element 36 is in the first working position of the kitchen box, which is located in the Figures 4 and 5 The illustration shows the kitchen box 2 in its rest position and in a second working position, in which the lid 4 is open for free access to the kitchen box via the opening 40 on the top of the kitchen box, but the lid is not supported against a surface on which the kitchen box 2 stands by means of at least one table leg 22, in the support position. The lid rests on at least one support element 36. In the exemplary embodiment, a support element 36 is arranged in the area of each of the two lid hinges 18.

[0021] A magnetic rail 42 is arranged on the inside 30 of the lid 4, as shown in Fig. 5As shown. Magnetic kitchen utensils, such as knives, can be attached to this magnetic rail 42. During transport of the kitchen box 2 and its contents, with the lid 4 in the rest position, the magnetic rail 42 prevents these kitchen utensils from moving around inside the kitchen box 2 during transport. With the lid 4 open in the second working position of the kitchen box 2, as shown in Fig. 6 As shown, the magnetic rail 42 provides the magnetic kitchen utensils attached to it for easier access during food preparation with the lid 4 open. In the Fig. 5 In the first working position of the lid 4 of the kitchen box 2 shown, with the lid 4 swung open by 180°, the kitchen utensils are removed from the magnetic rail 42 in order not to impair the function of the inside 30 of the lid 4 as a table top.

[0022] In the base body 6 of the kitchen box 2, an intermediate shelf 44 is arranged between the base 8 and the lid 4 in its rest position, defining a storage compartment 46 which is bounded on all sides by the base body 6 and the base 8. This storage compartment 46 is accessible via a flap 48 in the front wall 16. The flap 48 can be closed by means of a latch 50. Fig. 2 Flap 48 is shown closed. Figs. 4 to 7 However, flap 48 is open.

[0023] A drawer 52 with a shelf 54 on its upper side is arranged in the base body 6. The drawer 52 is mounted on rails 56 and can be pulled out of the base body 6 through an opening 58 in the side wall 12. Support rails 60 are arranged parallel to the front wall 16 and the rear wall 14 in the base body 6. A shelf 62 rests on these rails and can be pulled out of the base body 6 together with the drawer 52 through the opening 58 in the side wall 12.

[0024] The shelf 62 has two long sides 64 and two short sides 66 and a bottom surface 68 with a profiled surface on all sides. Figure 7 A profile 69 on the longitudinal side 64 is visible. The profile 69 on the longitudinal sides 64 engages in the complementary support rails 60. The shelf 62 can be removed from the support rails 60 and, with the lid 4 open, rotated by 90° so that the profiles on the transverse sides can be inserted into the opening edges 72, 74 of the front 16 and the back 14. The opening edges 72, 74 enclose the opening 40 of the kitchen box 2. In the exemplary embodiment, however, the shelf 62 is not shown in the position rotated by 90° and placed on the opening edges 72, 74. Reference figures
