Description

Technical field

[0001] This invention relates to a light source localization system comprising a sensor structure for light sources from small sizes to the size of the sun.Prior Art

[0002] It is an important fact to determine the light intensities and to track the locations of light sources. Particularly, solar energy as an alternative energy source began to become more important today. In the energy transfer from the sun, it is important to know the sun's angular location and the orbit it follows. In the light of this information, there is a need for efficient tracking of the sun for solar energy systems. Each increase in the accuracy of tracking the sun brings an increase in efficiency in electrical energy production and in the capacity factors of power plants. The fact that existing high-quality structures, especially those using camera sensors and lenses are expensive creates a need for the invention of an alternative sensor structure in this area.

[0003] In order to localize light sources, semiconductor-based LDR type sensors whose electrical resistance changes according to the amount of light falling on it are used, Said sensors are placed side by side to form sensor structures that detect from which plane direction the light comes. Therefore, a simple information about the direction of the light source, generally in the form of east, west, north, south, can be obtained. By using this information, direction to the light source can be achieved via mechanical systems controlled by an electronic circuit. Especially in bringing the solar panels to the angle that will get the highest efficiency from the sun, these LDR or light-sensing sensor elements can often be used. Also, in other systems used today, cameras with planar, wide-angle or fish-eye lenses can be used in the determination of the localization of the light source. In these solutions, mathematical operations and transformations (transformation from spherical coordinates to planar coordinates in fish-eye lenses) are required on the images taken.

[0004] The light source localization systems used in the state of the art work by sensing the light according to the direction of the light by a few LDRs and making the control system direct towards it if necessary, as a simple approach. Due to the simple structure of the system, the localization information obtained is very limited and cannot produce a qualified solution to the localization problem. Furthermore, in said systems, financially expensive camera and lens systems are used and global positioning can be done with said lenses. However, here, particularly the semispherical structure of the lens and the deviations from the planarity in the resulting image are transformed in a way that requires computer processing power with the help of mathematical transformation methods.

[0005] In the invention described in the Chinese utility model document numbered CN203881439 (U) in the state of the art, a tracking sensor for the solar energy light condensing disk is described. The invention of the said document relates to a tracking sensor disk adapted to be able to use the solar energy. In the invention of the state of the art, a tracking sensor for a solar energy light condensing disk is described. The monitoring sensor consists of more than two emitter and Semi-light transmissive solid rod, connecting tubes and a photosensitive sensor. Conductive and semi-conductive solid rods are wrapped and connected by connecting pipes. At least one pair of two adjacent emitter and Semi-light transmissive solid rod are separated. In the outermost two emitter and Semi-light transmissive solid rod, one emitter and Semi-light transmitter solid rod is equipped with a light concentrator sunlight input on the top and the other emitter and Semi-light transmitter solid rod, and connected with photosensitive sensor. With more than two separated emitter and Semi-light transmitter solid rod, the damage of photosensitive element caused by heat conduction can be effectively avoided; the intensity of light reaching the photosensitive element can be effectively reduced by conductive and semi-conductive solid rods. There are more than two receiver and emitter tubes in a tracking sensor for the solar energy light condensing disk mentioned in the invention of the state of the art. However, there is no information in the said document that the structure of the tracking sensor in the invention is semi-spherical or fully spherical. Also, the sensor mentioned in the invention only works for a single wavelength of light.

[0006] In the invention of the Chinese utility model document numbered CN103197690 (A) of the state of the art, a light tracking sensor used for solar energy production is described. In the invention of the said document, the light tracking sensor used for solar energy generation comprises a sensor shell, a convex lens of the sensor, a photo-resistance and a circuit board. Here, the photo-resistance is fixed to the circuit board, the convex lens of the sensor is placed on a shell at the top of the sensor shell, and the lower end of the sensor shell is stably connected to the circuit board. The light tracking sensor for solar power generation has the advantages of decoupling the solar paths according to a pyramid suede structure in the surface and movement of a monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic board within the design process of the sensor and the control of the sensor. Light tracking electricity generation times are actually measured by interruptions of geometry math. Therefore, a motor does not need to chase light in real time or blindly and intermittently. In the invention of the state of the art, a sensor that performs the process of following the light using a motor is described. However, although the sensor in the invention described in the said document is similar to the sensor of the present invention in terms of motor use, it has differences in terms of other technical features.

[0007] The localization system of the present invention differs from light source localization systems currently used in terms of, for the mobile system, comprising one or more than one light sensors placed in a strip shape from point to full sphere (preferably in semi sphere or tam sphere form) and by decreasing the distance between the light sensors on the strip, allowing to increase the data resolution obtained, and the rotation for the strips to make a full circular scan being made by a motor; for both stationary and mobile systems, collecting the light intensity information to the extent of precision of the analog-digital converter that will be in the electronic system reading the data coming from sensors.

The system is used for controlling of an east-west adjusting motor and a north-south adjusting motor in a solar automatic tracking photo-thermal power generation device. The tracking control system comprises a main control unit for determining whether tracking controlling is started based on a current light intensity, a sun-view motion trajectory tracking coarse adjustment unit for calculating a spatial position of the sun based on current time and thus controlling an east-west adjusting motor and a north-south adjusting motor to be at set positions, and a fine sensor tracking adjustment unit for fine adjustment on a reflector support based on the light intensity to enable the reflector to align at the sun. The sun-view motion trajectory tracking coarse adjustment unit and the fine sensor tracking adjustment unit are connected with the main control unit.

[0009] CN109828613A discloses a distributed sensing photovoltaic panel sun tracking system. The system comprises at least three independently arranged spherical sensors, a vector fitter, at least one photovoltaic panel and a direction adjuster; the vector fitter obtains the elevation angle of the photovoltaic panel according to light incident vectors outputted by the spherical sensors and the positional relationships of the spherical sensors, and obtains the azimuth angle of the photovoltaic panel according to the elevation angle of the photovoltaic panel; and the direction adjuster controls the direction of the photovoltaic panel according to the azimuth angle and the elevation angle.

Through the data transferred from communication circuit to software program, the location of the light source can be determined.

[0019] In another embodiment of the present invention, one or more of the light sensors aligned in the form of semi or full spherical strip is used in a mobile structure rotated in azimuth direction. In this embodiment of the invention, the rotation is driven by a motor (in this embodiment, a step motor). The rotation angle of the said sensor strip is detected by mechanical, magnetic, optical (in this embodiment magnetic) or a similar system. Accordingly, the microcomputer structure obtains light data in the form of a semi sphere or a full sphere.
