AI Technical Summary
Existing menstrual products for dysmenorrhea relief, such as hot water bottles, heating patches, and period panties, are cumbersome, conspicuous, have limited heating time, pose burn risks, and lack effective treatment of pelvic and lower back pain, with heating elements detaching or degrading over time and not suitable for frequent washing.
A menstrual panty with heating fabric sections positioned over the pelvis and lower lumbar region, powered by a removable battery, and a washable, absorbent crotch area, ensuring long-lasting warmth and hygiene.
Provides discreet, long-lasting warmth for pelvic and lower back pain relief, with a durable design that withstands frequent washing and maintains effectiveness.
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to menstrual underwear to relieve women of dysmenorrhea.
[0002] Dysmenorrhea refers to menstrual pain of varying intensity that appears after the first period. It is known that this pain can be treated symptomatically with heat, for example, through a warm bath, or more specifically by applying heat to the pelvis and lower back.
[0003] It is common for women suffering from dysmenorrhea to apply a hot water bottle to their abdomen to relieve pain. However, the ergonomics of a hot water bottle make it difficult to maintain normal activity and an active lifestyle, as it requires lying down and is not easily portable. These traditional hot water bottles also pose a risk of burns. Furthermore, hot water bottles are conspicuous, and women may refuse to use them in public, particularly at work. There are also single-use heating patches or TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) patches with limited heating time. These patches are applied randomly to underwear, which creates a risk of misuse and limits their effectiveness. They do not treat pain in the lower back, a common symptom of dysmenorrhea. Moreover, these single-use patches are quite expensive when used regularly. There are also period panties with a kangaroo-style pouch into which a heating pad can be inserted. These heating pads remain mobile within the pouch and are poorly suited to the area being treated. They also cannot treat the posterior area and have very short heating times. There are also menstrual panties made of absorbent material to absorb menstrual flow. These panties have a short lifespan due to the frequent washing required.
[0004] From CN204763437U, we also know of responding to these sufferings with panties to which are attached a heating electric wire and magnetic packs of Chinese medicine.
[0005] From CN201119423Y, we also know of attaching heating elements to the front of the panties, in the upper part, these elements being powered by a battery.
[0006] From CN205286665U, we know of a pair of panties to which hand warmers and other stones such as tourmaline are attached.
[0007] From CN205912909, it is known to fix heating wires onto the fabric forming the front or anterior face of the panties.
[0008] Finally, from KR 10206468581, it is known to make a pair of panties from a fabric woven from heated threads, the heated threads being textile threads coated with a conductive polymer, notably by vapor phase deposition.
[0009] These period panties have a short lifespan, primarily because the heating elements attached to the fabric tend to detach over time, especially with repeated use. Furthermore, the crotch area lacks absorbent material, making them unsuitable for menstrual use. Panties made from heated fabric also don't withstand washing well; the woven heating threads tend to degrade and lose their heating function after a certain number of washes, particularly at high temperatures. Similarly, the batteries integrated into these older-style panties don't withstand repeated washing well.
[0010] The invention aims to solve the problems mentioned above by a menstrual panty according to claim 1, improvements and preferred embodiments being referred to in subclaims.
[0011] The menstrual panty provides long-lasting warmth for the wearer while remaining discreet. This reusable device has a long lifespan; the crotch area acts as a hygienic barrier by absorbing menstrual flow and can be replaced with another crotch area and / or washed separately from the rest of the panty, even more frequently, without risking damage to the heating element of the fabric.
[0012] Part of the front panel may be made of heating fabric. Preferably, the heating fabric portion of the front panel is positioned in front of the wearer's pelvis. This helps to treat pelvic pain in the user.
[0013] Part of the back panel may be made of heating fabric. Preferably, the heating fabric section of the back panel is positioned over the lower lumbar region of the wearer. This treats both pelvic and lower lumbar pain.
[0014] As an example, a preferred embodiment of the invention is now described by referring to the drawings, in which: there figure 1 is a front view of the anterior face of the panties according to the invention, in the worn state; the figure 2 is a front view of the rear face of the panties according to the invention, in the worn state; the figure 3 is a front perspective view of the waistband section of the breeches figures 1 et 2 ; there figure 4 is a front view of the part forming the crotch of the panties figures 1 et 2 ; and the figure 5 is a perspective view of the panties of figures 1 et 2 , with the crotch partially detached from the posterior face.
[0015] The underpants 1 comprise a waistband 20 having an anterior face 2 and a posterior face 3 which join laterally to form, at the top, a waistband designed to encircle the pelvis of the person wearing the underpants. The underpants further comprise a crotch 4 connecting a portion 5p of the lower end of the posterior face 3 and a portion 5a of the lower end of the anterior face 2, so as to form two openings for the legs of the person wearing the underpants 1.
[0016] Section 6 of the front panel 2 is made of carbon fiber heating fabric or another heat-conducting material. Section 6 extends from part of the upper end of the front panel 2 to part 5a of the lower end of the front panel 2, a length of 13 cm, and extends 15 cm orthogonally. The remainder of the front panel 2 is made of organic cotton fabric. The dimensions of the heating section are adapted to the panty sizes to maintain the heating / non-heating fabric ratio. This heating section 6 is intended to be positioned in front of the wearer's pelvis.
[0017] Section 7 of the back panel 3 is made of heated fabric. Section 7 extends from the entire upper end of the back panel 3 to section 5p at the lower end of the back panel 3, a length of 13 cm. The remainder of the back panel 3 is made of organic cotton fabric. The dimensions of the heated section are adapted to the panty sizes to maintain the ratio of heated fabric to non-heated fabric. This section 7 is designed to be positioned over the lower lumbar region of the wearer.
[0018] In particular, the part forming the belt could be made almost entirely of heated fabric.
[0019] Panty 1 contains a battery 8 to power the heating fabric. The front panel 2 has a pocket on its side, made of organic cotton fabric, to hold the battery 8. Cables connect the heating fabric to the battery 8 in a removable manner.
[0020] According to one embodiment, the crotch 4 comprises an anterior end part 4a removably attached to the part 5a of the lower end of the anterior face 2 by push buttons, the male and female parts of which are located on the anterior end part 4a while the female and male parts are located on the face facing inwards (i.e. towards the wearer when the trousers are worn) of the lower end part 5a, and a posterior end part 4p removably attached to the part 5p of the lower end of the posterior face 3 by push buttons, the male and female parts of which are located on the anterior end part 4p, on the same side of the crotch 4 as the buttons of the anterior end part 4a, while the female and male parts are located on the face facing inwards of the lower end part 5p.Two protective strips 11 (not shown in the . figure 3 ) can cover the female, respectively male, parts 5a and 5p on the inner side of the panty 1. These protective bands 11 are sewn along lines 10 of stitching to form a flap which can be folded over the female, respectively male, once these have come into cooperation with the male, respectively female parts from the crotch 4. In place of snap buttons, any other type of removable fastening could be provided, including a zipper, buttons, hook and loop fasteners (commonly known as Velcro, registered trademark) and the like.
[0021] Part 4, which forms the crotch, is not made of heated fabric, and therefore is not made of the same fabric as the waistband, which is made of heated fabric. Specifically, part 4, the crotch, is made of an absorbent material and is preferably washable and reusable.
[0022] In particular, the part forming the waistband is made of a first material, in particular a first fabric, having a first capacity for absorbing liquids, in particular water, and the part forming the crotch is made of a second material, in particular a second fabric, having a second capacity for absorbing liquids, in particular water, the second capacity for absorbing liquids being greater than the first capacity for absorbing liquids.
[0023] Absorbency capacities can notably be determined by the AATCC79 test, 2018 edition, defined by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists.
[0024] One can also use any other test, in particular any test consisting of weighing the sample to be tested, immersing it for a certain time, for example 1 minute, in a water bath at a temperature of 20°C, then, after draining, weighing it again, the absorbance capacity then being defined by the ratio of the weights after to the weights before immersion in percentage, a material with little or no absorbency having a capacity approximately equal to 1.
