METHOD OF SMALL INTESTINE DECOMPRESSION THROUGH THE STOMACH IN GASTROSCHISIS

Abstract

This invention relates to medicine, specifically pediatric surgery. A method for decompressing the small intestine through the stomach in gastroschisis is proposed. During surgical correction of gastroschisis, a gastrostomy is created at the fundus of the stomach, and an intubation tube is inserted through it through the stomach and duodenum into the jejunum, 15-20 cm distal to the ligament of Treitz. Some of the lateral openings of the tube are positioned in the stomach, while the distal openings are positioned in the duodenum and proximal jejunum. The proposed arrangement of the openings allows for their placement in different sections of the gastrointestinal tract, simultaneously decompressing two functional zones of intestinal motility.
