Abstract

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a foamed packaging unit and a packaging unit from a foamed material. The method according to the invention comprises the steps of: - preparing a foamed mouldable fiber material comprising a fiber material and a foaming agent; - moulding a raw packaging unit from the foamed mouldable fiber material, wherein the solid content of the raw packaging unit is above 35% by weight; and - in-mould drying the raw packaging unit to the foamed packaging unit.
