Abstract

The invention relates to a thermal release device (10) for automatically closing a fire damper (4) in an air duct (5), wherein the release device can be connected via a connecting cable (8) comprising at least a first and second line (M, VS) to an actuator (1) for closing the fire damper when a duct air temperature limit (θGi) is exceeded. Characteristically, the release device comprises an electronic control unit and an associated first temperature sensor (16) for continuously detecting a duct air temperature value (θi). The control unit has or is connected to a first interface (D1). The latter is connected to an interface line (DL) as the third line of the connecting cable. The control unit is designed to output a trigger signal (SIG) at the first interface when the duct air temperature limit is exceeded, or to stop the output of a non-trigger signal (BEAT) at the first interface.
