[0002] From US 1 367 996 A, a generic buttstock of a handgun is known with a front connection area for positive connection to a bolt housing and a trigger unit arranged on the buttstock with a trigger blade and a forwardly extending transmission element for connecting the trigger blade to a trigger mechanism arranged in the bolt housing.

[0003] WO 2007 / 030843 A1 discloses a rifle with a central receiver. A barrel, a fore-end, a buttstock, a rotary piston bolt, a magazine, and a modular trigger are mounted on or in the central receiver.

[0004] US 2003 / 140542 A1 discloses a handgun in which a trigger unit and a buttstock with a pistol grip and a shoulder rest are arranged on a system box.

[0005] The object of the invention is to provide a buttstock of a handgun and a handgun with such a buttstock which enable an increased cartridge loading capacity.

[0006] This object is achieved by a buttstock having the features of claim 1 and by a handgun having the features of claim 10. Advantageous embodiments and expedient further developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

[0007] According to the invention, a trigger unit with a trigger blade and a forward-extending transmission element for connecting the trigger blade to a trigger mechanism located in the action box is arranged on the buttstock. The trigger blade and the transmission element are arranged in a trigger housing attached to the buttstock. By relocating the trigger unit to the buttstock, the magazine can also protrude further downward relative to the action box, thus increasing the cartridge loading capacity. The compact design can still be maintained.

[0008] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the buttstock can consist of an extension piece attachable to the receiver and a rear stock section detachably attached to the extension piece. The rear stock section can be designed, for example, as a shoulder rest adjustable relative to the extension piece or as a stock butt made of wood, plastic, or a composite material. The trigger unit with the trigger blade and the transmission element can expediently be arranged on the extension piece.

[0009] The transmission element can expediently be designed in the form of a rod or a lever. The transmission element is preferably pivotable about an axis and connected to the trigger blade via a joint such that the front end of the transmission element is raised by pulling the trigger blade. The transmission element can be connected to the trigger mechanism arranged in the action box via a connecting pin that is axially displaceable in the trigger housing.

[0010] The front connection area of the buttstock is preferably adapted to the shape of a pin on the rear of the action box and has an inner shape corresponding to the outer shape of the pin. This allows for a precise and reproducible connection between the buttstock and the action box.

[0011] The buttstock can be constructed in one or more parts. In a multi-part design, the buttstock can have an extension piece that can be attached to the rear of the receiver and a shoulder rest that is adjustable relative to the extension piece. The shoulder rest can be slidably guided on a guide piece arranged on the extension piece.

[0012] The trigger unit with the trigger blade and the transmission element can expediently be arranged on the extension piece. A grip piece, e.g., designed as a pistol grip, can also be attached to the extension piece.

[0013] The invention also relates to a handgun with a buttstock as described above. A trigger mechanism connected to the trigger blade on the buttstock via the transmission element can be arranged in the receiver of the handgun.

[0014] Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the drawings. They show: Figure 1 a handgun in a perspective view; Figure 2 the rear part of the Figure 1 shown handgun in a longitudinal section; Figure 3 which in Figure 1 handgun shown in an exploded view; Figure 4 a second embodiment of a handgun in a side view and Figure 5 the rear part of the Figure 4 shown handgun in a longitudinal section.
