Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a bar intended for the practice of physical exercise, in particular a muscle exercise of the pull-up type.
[0002] We know of bars intended to be mounted reversibly in the frame of a door, which include a main tube for gripping by the user, and two ends each equipped with a rod carrying a tip intended to come into lateral support against respectively a post of said frame.
[0003] At least one of the rods is mounted for rotation via a system for adjusting the longitudinal dimension of the bar, so that it can be adapted to the transverse distance separating the two door uprights. In particular, the system may include a tapped bore formed in the end of the tube, as well as a thread extending longitudinally along at least a portion of the rod to allow it to be screwed into said end, according to the desired length.
[0004] When using the bar, repeated hand movements by the user on the main tube can cause it to rotate relative to the rod(s), which can lead to the bar loosening and thus risk the user falling.
[0005] To limit this risk, document CN-208 465 058 provides for a bar with a length adjustment system which includes a device for locking the rod against rotation relative to the main tube, said device including a groove formed in the rod and a ring equipped with a lug which is disposed in said groove to guide the translation of said ring around said rod by preventing their relative rotation.
[0006] In particular, this document specifies equipping the end of the main tube with a collar whose inner wall has a plurality of angularly distributed rectangular recesses. Thus, when the ring is moved translationally towards the end of the tube, the lug engages longitudinally in the recess that coincides with the groove in the rod, thereby preventing the relative rotation of said rod with respect to the tube.
[0007] This solution is not entirely satisfactory, as it proves relatively complex to implement. Furthermore, the arrangement of the locking notches inside the main tube makes them difficult to locate, which complicates the use of the locking device and fails to guarantee user safety against the risk of the bar loosening during physical training.
[0008] The invention aims to improve the prior art by proposing in particular a pull-up bar whose longitudinal dimension, once adjusted, can be locked in a simple and intuitive way, in order to guarantee the user optimal safety against the risk of loosening the bar, and therefore of falling during the use of said bar.
[0009] To this end, the invention proposes a bar intended for the practice of physical exercise, in particular a muscle exercise of the pull-up type, said bar comprising a main tube for gripping by the user, said tube having two ends each equipped with a rod carrying a tip for holding said bar between two lateral structures during practice, at least one of said rods being mounted for rotation by means of a system for adjusting the longitudinal dimension of said bar, said system comprising a device for locking the rod against rotation relative to the main tube, said device comprising a groove formed in the rod and a ring equipped with a lug which is disposed in said groove to guide the translation of said ring around said rod while preventing their relative rotation, the locking device further comprising at least one notch formed longitudinally in the end of the main tube, said notch being arranged to selectively receive the lug by translation of the ring towards a position where the ring is locked against rotation relative to said tube, said bar further having a slot extending angularly, the lug being formed diametrically opposite said slot.
[0010] Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the following description, made with reference to the accompanying figures, in which: [ Fig.1a ] And [ Fig.1b ] represent in perspective one end of a bar according to an embodiment of the invention, the rotation-locking ring being respectively assembled ( figure 1a ) and disassembled ( figure 1b ) of the adjustment rod; [ Fig.2a ], [ Fig.2b ] And [ Fig.2c ] represent the ring of figures 1a et 1b , respectively in front view ( figure 2a ), viewed from below ( figure 2b ) and in section along plane AA of the figure 2a (figure 2c ) ; [ Fig.3 ] represents the ring from the previous figures along two cutting planes, respectively planes BB and CC of the figure 2c .
[0011] In relation to these figures, a bar intended for the practice of a physical exercise, in particular a muscle exercise of the pull-up type, is described below.
[0012] The bar includes a main tube 1 for user gripping, said tube having two ends 2 each equipped with a rod 3 carrying a tip 4 for holding said bar between two lateral structures, for example the side posts of a door frame, when performing such an exercise.
[0013] The main tube 1 may include a covering 5 that at least partially covers its periphery, said covering having an outer surface 5a arranged to form a gripping area for the user. In particular, the covering 5 may be made of foam or an elastomeric material, in order to limit the slippage of the user's hands on the main tube 1 during exercise.
[0014] Each end piece 4 has a surface 4a which extends in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bar, and which is intended to bear longitudinally against a lateral structure.
[0015] To adjust the longitudinal dimension of the bar to the spacing between the lateral structures, at least one rod 3 is mounted for rotation by means of a system for adjusting said longitudinal dimension. Such a system may include, for example, a tapped bore formed in the end 2, as well as a thread extending longitudinally over at least a front portion of the rod 3, in order to allow it to be screwed into said end to the desired length.
[0016] Advantageously, the two rods 3 are mounted for rotation on the corresponding end 2 of the main tube 1 by means of such an adjustment system, said systems being arranged to allow simultaneous adjustment of the distances between each end piece 4 and the opposite end 2 by simple manual rotation of said tube around its longitudinal axis.
[0017] Each adjustment system has a device for locking the rod 3 against rotation relative to the main tube 1, said device comprising a groove 6 formed in the rod and a ring 7 equipped with a lug 8 which is disposed in said groove to guide the translation of said ring around said rod by preventing their relative rotation.
[0018] In relation to the figures, the ring 7 has a slot 9 extending angularly, in particular to allow its mounting around the rod 3, the lug 8 being formed diametrically opposite said slot.
[0019] In particular, as depicted on the figures 2a And 3 , the slot 9 extends over the ring 7 along an angular dimension α between 60° and 120°, and in particular on the order of 90°, which makes it easier to mount and ensures its radial retention around the rod 3.
[0020] The locking device further includes at least one notch 10 formed longitudinally in the end 2 of the main tube 1, said notch being arranged to selectively receive the lug 8 by translation of the ring 7 to a locking position in rotation of said ring relative to said tube.
[0021] In particular, the notch 10 is formed through the end 2 of the main tube 1, for example by cutting, the lug 8 in the locking position being received in said notch. Thus, particularly when the lug 8 extends radially inside the ring 7, said ring in the locking position is disposed at least partially around the end 2.
[0022] Advantageously, the notch 10 is positioned so that it is visible from the outer edge of the main tube 1, allowing the user to easily locate it and thus reliably lock the relative rotation of the tube 1 and the rods 3. This enables the user to perform exercises safely, as the risk of the bar loosening, and therefore the risk of falling, is optimally reduced.
[0023] After adjusting the bar to the desired longitudinal dimension, the user can lock it between the door uprights by arranging the grooves 6 of each rod 3 in longitudinal alignment with the corresponding notch 10, and then sliding each ring 7 to engage the lugs 8 in said notches, which is a simple and intuitive gesture.
[0024] The locking devices may include several notches 10 spaced angularly on the corresponding tube end 2, which makes it possible to provide a bar with several indexed options of longitudinal dimensions, said options being adapted to different standard dimensions of door frames.
[0025] In particular, each end 2 may include two angularly spaced notches, notably at an angle of approximately 180°, the corresponding lug 8 being intended to be selectively engaged in one of said notches in the locking position, according to the relative angular position of the rod 1 with respect to the tube 1.
[0026] In the embodiment shown, the lug 8 extends radially inside the ring 7, which makes it more reliable to engage in the notch 10, but also improves the aesthetics.
[0027] The ring 7 comprises a front portion 7a and a rear portion 7b on which the lug 8 extends longitudinally, presenting a front part 8a and a rear part 8b respectively, said rear part being arranged to ensure the translational guidance of the ring 7 around the rod 3, said front part being arranged to engage in a notch 10 and ensure the rotational locking of the ring 7 relative to the tube 1.
[0028] Advantageously, in addition to the rear part 8b, the front part 8a of the lug 8 is arranged in the groove 6, which improves the translational guidance of the ring 7 on the rod 3, but also facilitates the arrangement of said front part in the notch 10.
[0029] To do this, as shown in particular on the figure 2c, the lug 8 has a free edge 11 which extends longitudinally along an internal diameter D from the front part 8a to the rear part 8b, as well as a significant total longitudinal dimension, in particular between 70% and 90% of the total longitudinal dimension of the ring 7.
[0030] In the embodiment shown, the front portion 7a of the ring 7 further has an inner diameter D1 which is larger than the inner diameter D2 of the rear portion 7b. In particular, the inner diameter D1 is arranged to allow the front portion 7a to be positioned around the end of the tube 2 in the locked position.
[0031] The inner diameter D1 of the front portion 7a forms a reduced clearance with the outer diameter of the tube end 2, which facilitates the engagement and disengagement of the lug 8 in the notch 10.
[0032] Similarly, the lower diameter D2 of the rear portion 7b forms a reduced clearance with the outer diameter of the rod 3, which facilitates the translational guidance of said ring around said rod.
[0033] Furthermore, the front portions 7a and rear portions 7b are connected in the longitudinal direction by a connecting fillet 7c, said fillet having an internal surface 12 arranged to come into longitudinal contact with the free edge 13 of the end 2 in the locking position.
