Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention falls within the field of industrial and environmental risk management. More particularly, the invention relates to the prevention of risks linked to the accidental or unintentional spreading of flammable and / or combustible fluids on sites of human activity such as an industrial environment, an oil site, a chemical industry site, a vehicle maintenance site, a military site or other.
[0002] The accidental spreading of flammable, combustible, or caustic polluting fluids (acids, bases, etc.) creates problems on several levels. On the one hand, such an incident is likely to endanger the physical integrity of personnel, and on the other hand, the equipment of the activity site: the equipment, the vehicles located near the accidental spreading; run a significant risk of degradation. However, in industrial or military environments, equipment is often very expensive, so it is important to avoid its degradation. On the other hand, accidental spreading can be a source of soil pollution, even when the site has coated surfaces. Indeed, concrete materials are porous, and therefore permeable, water and pollutants can penetrate them by capillarity. They therefore do not prevent the risk of soil contamination. For all these reasons, preventing the risk of spreading pollutants, particularly flammable, combustible or caustic pollutants, is of capital importance in an approach to reducing the risks of a site of human activity handling particularly reactive fluids.
[0003] For this purpose, drainage system solutions have been developed and are known from documents CN104955530A, FR2862488A, US6898909B and US4231325A.
[0004] For example, it is known from document CN104955530A, a drainage system developed specifically to contain a fire of flammable fluids following an accidental spill. This drainage system comprises a floor under which a determined number of drainage channels extend. Each drainage channel extends longitudinally between a first end and a second end. In practice, each drainage channel is delimited, above by a lower face of the floor, below by a bottom and laterally by two parallel walls opposite each other which are respectively connected to the bottom and to the floor.
[0005] In order to evacuate the flammable fluid that has responded to the surface of the floor, the latter includes holes made at regular intervals so that a liquid flowing on an upper face of the floor can flow by gravity into a drainage channel. On one side of the floor is arranged a manifold which supplies purge fluid to each drainage channel and on the other side of the floor, extends a gutter communicating with each drainage channel. The gutter and the manifold pipe extend perpendicular to the drainage channels. The disadvantage of this system lies in the fact that the purge liquid inlet is manually operated. Therefore, if there are no personnel near the floor, the flammable fluid flows into the drainage channels without being pushed by a purge liquid.
[0006] In this context, the applicant has developed a technical solution to improve the prevention of risks linked to the spreading of flammable, combustible or caustic polluting fluids.
[0007] With this in mind, the present invention relates to a drainage system for polluting, flammable and / or combustible fluids, the drainage system comprising a floor and a determined number of drainage channels, the drainage channels being arranged adjacent to each other and arranged under the floor, each drainage channel extending longitudinally between a first end and a second end, the floor comprising holes arranged at regular intervals so that a liquid flowing on an upper face of the floor flows by gravity into a drainage channel.
[0008] The drainage system comprises a gutter which communicates with each drainage channel so as to evacuate a polluting fluid flowing in the drainage channels, the gutter being connected to a polluting fluid retention tank, the drainage system comprising at least one leak sensor which is at least in the gutter, the at least one sensor being configured to trigger an alert when a polluting fluid flows at least in the gutter, the drainage system further comprising a supply of purge liquid, the supply being connected to each drainage channel of the floor.
[0009] The leak sensor helps trigger an alert as soon as a fluid flow is detected on the drainage system floor. The user is then alerted to a problem and can take the necessary steps to stop the flow of polluting fluid.
[0010] According to a first characteristic of the invention, each drilling of the floor comprises a cannula which extends from a lower face of the floor towards a free end projecting into a drainage channel. The cannula promotes the rapid flow of fluid from the upper face of the floor towards a drainage channel.
[0011] Optionally, each cannula can have an internal thread. The internal thread allows equipment to be anchored to the floor, making it easier to arrange the floor.
[0012] Preferably, each piercing and each cannula are made by flow drilling. Unlike traditional mechanical drilling, this thermal drilling technique ensures that the three-dimensional shape of the pierced object is maintained.
[0013] According to a second characteristic of the invention, the drainage system comprises a control unit connected by wire or via a wireless network to the at least one leak sensor, when a leak is detected, the control unit being configured to receive an alert from the at least one leak sensor. The control unit makes it possible to alert the user of a leak so that the necessary measures can be taken to stem the flow of liquid.
[0014] The purge liquid supply facilitates the neutralization and / or evacuation of the polluting fluid, by flow inertia, from the drainage channels to the retention reservoir.
[0015] According to the invention, the drainage system may also comprise means for controlling the discharge of the purge liquid from the supply, the discharge control means being controlled by the control unit. This feature makes it possible to automate the response of the drainage system when a flow of polluting fluid is detected. In fact, the control unit activates the discharge of the purge fluid automatically. This allows a rapid response without human intervention.
[0016] In particular, the control means may comprise a solenoid valve and / or a pump configured to distribute the purge liquid towards the drainage channels. In addition, the drainage system comprises a feeder pipe which connects the supply to each drainage channel.
[0017] According to a fourth feature of the invention, the drainage system comprises a fire damper inserted between the gutter and the at least one retention tank. This feature prevents the flow of flaming liquid towards the retention tank, thus reducing the risk of the emergency situation getting out of control.
[0018] According to a fifth characteristic, the drainage system includes: at least one spray bar arranged at a determined height from the floor, the at least one spray bar being connected to a water supply, and means for managing the water supply to the at least one spray bar, the management means actuating the at least one spray bar at least when a release of smoke is detected.
[0019] The invention also relates to a method of draining polluting fluids flowing into a drainage system according to the invention.
[0020] The drainage process comprising: a step of detecting the flow of a polluting fluid at least in the gutter, the detection step being carried out by at least one leak sensor, a step of emitting a leak alert from the at least one leak sensor, a step of injecting a purge liquid into each drainage channel of the floor, and a step of evacuating the fluid flowing in the gutter.
[0021] The drainage method according to the invention autonomously manages the injection of a purge liquid in the event of detection of the flow of a polluting fluid.
[0022] Other features and advantages will appear in the detailed description which follows, of a non-limiting example of embodiment of the invention illustrated by the figures 1 à 3 placed in the appendix and in which: [ Fig. 1 ] is a schematic representation of a drainage system according to the invention. [ Fig. 2 ] is a representation of a module profile constituting a floor of the drainage system of the figure 1 [ Fig. 3 ] is a three-dimensional representation of the modulus of the figure 2 .
[0023] The present invention relates to a drainage system 1 for polluting fluids. The invention relates more particularly to flammable, combustible, or caustic fluids or liquids which are likely to be dangerous for the personnel of a human activity site or for the equipment of this activity site. These fluids are also problematic from an environmental point of view if they spread into nature. In this context, the drainage system of the invention is particularly useful with regard to the prevention of risks on sites of various types: weighing rooms, mixing rooms, distillation column, still or "pot still", high hangars hosting maintenance operations, engine test bench, liquid transfer operation, storage of alcohol barrels, chemical reactors, area for mixing additives for oils etc.
[0024] As illustrated in the figure 1 , the drainage system 1 comprises a floor 2 comprising an upper face 20 and a lower face 21. The upper face 20 constitutes a useful surface of the floor 2. By useful surface is meant the surface on which a user can handle polluting or dangerous substances while benefiting from the functionalities of the drainage system 1. This floor 2 can be of variable dimensions, for information purposes, the useful surface of the floor 2 can vary between 10 m 2 < and 100 m 2 < or even beyond 100 m 2 <. Generally, the floor 2 can be rectangular as illustrated in figure 1 However, it is entirely possible to modulate floor 2 so that it takes a suitable form according to the needs of the human activity site.
[0025] This floor 2 is intended to rest directly on the ground if the latter has a sufficient slope, for example between 0.5 and 2 cm / m, to promote flow. Otherwise, it can rest on a primary structure giving it this slope.
[0026] The drainage system 1 also comprises a determined number of drainage channels 3. The drainage channels 3 are configured to evacuate a polluting fluid flowing on an upper face 20 of the floor 2. As illustrated in figures 2 And 3 , the drainage channels 3 are arranged under the floor 2. According to this example, the drainage channels 3 are arranged adjacent to each other. Here, each drainage channel 3 extends longitudinally between a first end 30 and a second end 31. According to the invention, at least the second end 31 is open, however preferably both ends 30, 31 of a drainage channel 3 are open.
[0027] As illustrated in the figure 2 , on the one hand, each drainage channel 3 is delimited above by the lower face 21 of the floor 2. On the other hand, each drainage channel 3 is delimited below by a bottom 32. Finally, from a lateral point of view, the drainage channel 3 is delimited by two side walls 33. These two side walls 33 are parallel and opposite each other. Each side wall 33 is respectively connected on one side to the bottom 32 and on the other side to the floor 2. In fact, the drainage channels 3 respectively constitute evacuation conduits independent of each other in their longitudinal extent. More particularly, the lower face 21 of the floor 2, the two side walls 33 and the bottom 32 of a drainage channel 3 delimit the dimensions of the section of a light of the drainage channel 3. In addition, immediately under the lower face 21, each drainage channel 3 has edges 34 which can serve as a support for a fire-stop device. For example, this can be made up of a multi-layered mattress of metal mesh.
[0028] As illustrated in figures 2 And 3 , the floor 2 is integral with each drainage channel 3. In practice, the floor 2 is made up of a determined number of modules, each module comprising three drainage channels 3. In practice, a module is made up of a metal profile configured so as to comprise three drainage channels 3 integral with each other. In fact, the central drainage channel 3 shares its side walls 33 with the two lateral drainage channels 3, the bottom of the profile being continuous and corresponding to the bottom 32 of each drainage channel 3 (illustrated in figure 2 ). Preferably the profile is made of aluminum, however, steel or another metal alloy could also be used. It should be noted that depending on the metal chosen, certain liquid substances that react with this metal cannot be used. For example, when using aluminum and water as a purging liquid, sulfuric acid, caustic soda or liquids classified R2 according to the UN classification cannot be handled above floor 2. To overcome this problem, it is possible to use steel and / or a purging liquid that does not react with these substances.
[0029] Similarly, the profile could comprise more than three drainage channels 3 configured in a similar manner. A module can extend over a longitudinal distance of between 2 m and 12 m. This longitudinal distance corresponds to the length of the profile. In a transverse direction, the module extends over a transverse distance of between 15 and 50 cm. Here, the transverse distance defines the width of the floor 2. Each module comprises interlocking means 23 which run longitudinally on each side of the module. Preferably, on one side the module comprises a male interlocking means 23 and on the other side a female interlocking means 23. Thus, the drainage system 1 and more particularly the floor 2 has a modular character. It is possible to dismantle the floor at will if necessary.Depending on the user's needs, the longitudinal dimensions of floor 2 can vary between 2 m and 12 m, while the transverse dimensions can vary between 1 m and 10 m. It is also possible to go beyond ten meters in width. The longitudinal dimensions of floor 2 correspond to its length, while the transverse dimensions correspond to the width of floor 2.
[0030] As illustrated in figures 2 And 3 , the floor 2 comprising holes 22 arranged at regular intervals. These holes 22 pass through the floor 2. Thus, a liquid fluid flowing on an upper face 21 of the floor 2 flows by gravity into a drainage channel 3 arranged under the floor 2. In this respect, each hole 22 extends along an axis XX communicating with the light of a drainage channel 3 (illustrated in figure 2 ). It should be noted that the holes 22 are arranged above the same drainage channel 3 and are aligned on the same longitudinal axis. This longitudinal axis is perpendicular and intersecting the axis XX.
[0031] In the example of the figure 2 , each hole 22 of the floor 2 comprises a cannula 220. The cannula 220 extends from a lower face 21 of the floor 2 towards a free end 221. The free end 221 projects into the lumen of the drainage channel 3. In this example, the cannula 220 has a frustoconical section, the free end 221 has the smallest diameter.
[0032] Incidentally, it is possible for a determined number of cannulas 220 to have an internal thread. Preferably, all the cannulas 220 of the floor 2 have an internal thread. The internal thread contributes to improving the arrangement of various installations on the upper face 20 of the floor 2.
[0033] It should be noted that each drilling and each 220 cannula can be made by flow drilling. Flow drilling is a thermal drilling technique that allows the three-dimensional properties of the drilled surface to be preserved. Inserting a screw immediately after the flow drilling operation allows the 220 cannula to be tapped while the metal is still incandescent.
[0034] As illustrated in figures 2 And 3 , the floor 2 may comprise a ridge line 24 which extends longitudinally between each end of the module. The ridge line 24 is arranged on the same axis YY as a side wall 33. The ridge line 24 makes it possible to channel a liquid on the surface of the floor 2 towards the holes 22. In addition, the upper face 20 of the floor 2 may be curved towards the holes 22 in order to channel the liquid more efficiently. This is illustrated in figure 2 by small arrows pointing towards each hole 22 at the level of the upper face 20 of the floor 2.
[0035] In the example shown in figure 1 , the drainage system 1 comprises a gutter 4. The gutter 4 extends perpendicular to the drainage channels 3. In addition, the gutter 4 communicates with each drainage channel 3. Here, the gutter 4 communicates with each drainage channel 3 via the second end 31 of each drainage channel 3. In this way, it is possible to evacuate a polluting fluid flowing in the drainage channels 3. The gutter 4 comprises a bottom 40 arranged in the continuity of the bottoms 32 of each drainage channel 3. The gutter 4 is also delimited laterally by an outer edge 41 and an inner edge 42. The outer edge 41 is constituted by a side wall, while the inner edge 42 communicates with the lumen of each drainage channel 3. Finally, the gutter 4 is closed at the top by an upper wall which extends in the continuity of the floor 2. As illustrated in figure 1 , the gutter 4 extends longitudinally between a first end 43 and a second end 44. Here, the gutter 4 extends over the entire width of the floor 2, the gutter 4 being integral with the floor 2.
[0036] The channel 4 is also connected to at least one retention tank 10. In practice, the channel 4 extends longitudinally between two ends 43, 44. The connection with the retention tank 10 is made through a discharge conduit 11 arranged at a first end 40 of the channel 4.
[0037] The retention tank 10 helps to store polluting fluids, with the aim of preserving the environment. Of course, the retention tank 10 is impermeable.
[0038] According to the invention, the gutter 4 comprises at least one leak sensor 5. The leak sensor 5 is configured to trigger an alert when a polluting fluid flows into the gutter 5. In this example, the leak sensor 5 is in the bottom 40 of the gutter 4. Preferably, the leak sensor 5 is arranged in the bottom 40 of the gutter 4 at the first end 43 of the gutter 4. More preferably, the leak sensor 5 can extend longitudinally on the bottom 40 of the gutter 4 between each of the ends 43, 44. It is then possible to speak of a linear leak sensor 5. This characteristic contributes to detecting a leak as soon as a liquid flows from any drainage channel 3 into the gutter 4.
[0039] It is also possible to provide a leak sensor 5 in each drainage channel 3. Several options can be chosen depending on the substance that is handled above the floor 2. In the case of a highly reactive substance, it is necessary to trigger an alert very quickly. For this purpose, each drainage channel 3 may include a linear leak sensor 5 which extends between each of its ends 30, 31. For less reactive substances, the leak sensor 5 may extend only over a portion of the bottom 32 of each drainage channel 3. In this case, it is preferable to arrange the leak sensor 5 near the second end 31 of the drainage channel 3. Indeed, due to the slope, the liquid substance flows towards the second end 31 (illustrated by an arrow at figure 1 ).
[0040] According to another option, the drainage system comprises a single leak sensor 5 arranged in the bottom 40 of the gutter 4, this leak sensor 5 comprising a first linear section which extends in the gutter 4. The leak sensor 5 additionally comprises linear branches which extend respectively, from the first linear section, towards the first end 30 of each drainage channel 3. Therefore, the drainage system 1 is innervated by a leak sensor 5 capable of detecting the flow of a liquid at any point of the floor 2 as soon as this liquid falls into the bottom 32 of a drainage channel 3.
[0041] It should be noted that depending on the type of substance that is handled on the surface of the floor 2, the leak sensor 5 may be of a different nature. For information purposes, it is possible to choose a resistive sensor, a fiber optic sensor or other.
[0042] The resistive sensor may take the form of a silicone sheath through which a conductive electrical wire is run. The silicone sheath is configured to absorb the liquid and thereby vary the electrical resistance. When the electrical resistance reaches a predetermined threshold, the leak sensor 5 triggers an alert. This type of sensor is particularly useful for use in the drainage system 1 to prevent risks associated with handling hydrocarbons.
[0043] Furthermore, the drainage system 1 comprises a control unit 6. The control unit 6 is connected by wire or via a wireless network to the at least one leak sensor 5. When a leak is detected, the leak sensor 5 emits an alert towards the control unit 6. The control unit 6 is configured to receive an alert from the at least one leak sensor 5. In practice, the control unit 6 comprises a processor and a memory so as to store and execute one or more algorithms. The control unit 6 is arranged near the floor 2. In practice, the control unit 6 is integrated into a control panel 60.
[0044] As illustrated in the figure 1 , the drainage system 1 additionally comprises at least one supply 12 of purge liquid. As a general rule, the purge liquid consists of water. In this case, the supply 12 may be connected to a water distribution network. However, depending on the substance handled on the floor 2, it is possible that the water includes additives or emulsifiers. In this case, the supply 12 may consist of a purge tank containing a specific purge liquid.
[0045] As illustrated in the figure 1 , the supply 12 is connected to each drainage channel 3 of the floor 2. In particular, the drainage system 1 comprises a feeder conduit 7 which connects the supply 12 to each drainage channel 3. The feeder conduit extends over the entire width of the floor 2 opposite the gutter 4. Just like the gutter 4, the feeder conduit 7 extends longitudinally between a first end 70 and a second end 71. The feeder conduit 7 comprises a bottom 72, an outer edge 73, an inner edge 74 and an upper face. The bottom 72 is arranged in the continuity of the bottoms 32 of the drainage channels 3. At the same time, the inner edge 74 is open, on the light of each drainage channel 3, via their first end 30. The outer edge 73 and the second end 71 are closed. The upper face extends in continuity with the floor 2. While the first end 70 is connected to the power supply 12.The feeder pipe 7 communicates with the drainage channel 3. In fact, when the supply discharges purge liquid, the feeder pipe 7 feeds each drainage channel 3. The flow of the drainage liquid is illustrated in . figure 1 by arrows.
[0046] As illustrated in the figure 1 , the drainage system 1 may comprise control means 8. The control means 8 are configured to control the discharge of the purge liquid from the supply 12 towards the drainage channels 3. According to the invention, the control means 8 are controlled by the control unit 6. In fact, the control means 8 are connected to the control unit wired or wirelessly according to a near field communication network. In particular, when the leak sensor 5 detects the flow of a liquid, an alert is sent to the control unit 6. The control unit 6 then orders the control means 8 to release or spray the purge liquid towards the drainage channels 3, via the feeder pipe 7. In this example, the drainage system 1 comprises an inlet 75 in the feeder pipe 7. The inlet 75 is arranged at the first end 70 of the feeder pipe 7.The inlet 75 is furthermore connected to the supply 12 by an inlet duct 13. In this example, the control means 8 are arranged at the level of the inlet 75. However, it is possible to arrange the control means at any position of the inlet duct 13 between the supply 12 and the inlet 75.
[0047] On the diagram of the figure 1 , the control means 8 comprise a solenoid valve. Preferably, the solenoid valve is configured to control the flow rate of water diffused towards the drainage channels 3. However, depending on the configuration of the drainage system 1, it is also possible to use, in addition or alternatively, a pump configured to project the purge liquid towards the drainage channels 3.
[0048] Discharging a purge liquid following the detection of a flow makes it possible to reduce the reaction of the polluting substance flowing into the drainage channels 3. The reaction may be an ignition, followed by combustion. In addition, the purge fluid will cause, by its inertia, the evacuation of the polluting liquid substance towards the retention tank 10 (illustrated in figure 1 ).
[0049] In addition, the control unit 6 may comprise a manual actuator 61. The manual actuator 61 is also integrated into the control panel 60. The manual actuator 61 makes it possible in an emergency to manually control the discharge of the purge liquid. Such a situation may occur in the event of a malfunction of the leak sensor 5 and / or the control unit 6.
[0050] As illustrated in the figure 1 , the drainage system 1 may also comprise a fire damper 14. In this example, the fire damper 14 is interposed between the gutter 4 and the at least one retention tank 10. Preferably, this fire damper 14 is arranged at a shorter distance from the gutter 4 than the distance between the fire damper 14 and the retention tank 10. By preventing the arrival of combustion air, the fire damper 14 contributes to stopping the residual flames of a burning liquid which flows from the gutter 4 towards the retention tank 10.
[0051] According to the invention, the retention tank 10 may comprise a liquid level detector 100. When the detector 100 measures a liquid level above a predetermined threshold value, an alert is sent to the control unit 6. This is in order to provide for emptying of the retention tank 10. The drainage system 1 may comprise a pump 15 for emptying the retention tank 10.
[0052] The retention tank 10 is sized to allow the storage of twice the volume of the contents of the purge tank or to contain twice the volume of liquid flowing at a rate of 1 l / min per drainage channel 3. However, the detector 100 makes it possible to prevent any overflow or saturation of the retention tank 10.
[0053] Additionally, the drainage system 1 may include at least one spray bar, also known as a sprinkler or automatic water extinguisher. The spray bar is arranged at a specific height from the floor 2. The bar may extend above the floor 2 or laterally relative to the latter. The bar is useful for controlling a chemical reaction or a violent fire that would take place on the useful surface of the floor 2 or for cooling goods stored nearby. In practice, the spray bar is connected to a water supply. The drainage system 1 may also incorporate means for managing the water supply to the spray bar. Depending on the type of substance handled on the floor 2, it is possible to provide several spray bars and to vary their positioning, flow rate and number.
[0054] These management means may be independent or connected to the control unit 6. The management means may comprise a smoke detector. In this case, the spray bar is activated upon detection of smoke release. However, it is also possible for the management means to be actuated by the control unit 6 following detection of liquid flowing in a drainage channel 3. In practice, the management means may comprise a solenoid valve for controlling the diffusion of water towards the floor 2. Preferably, the solenoid valve is configured to control the flow rate of water diffused in the spray bar.
[0055] Regarding the figure 1 , the connections shown between the control unit and the electrical and / or electronic equipment (leak sensor 5, control means 8, fire damper 14, pump 15, level detector 100 etc.) may constitute wired and / or remote connections and materialize according to the electrical supply and / or the communication between these elements.
[0056] The invention also relates to a method for draining polluting fluids flowing into a drainage system 1 according to the invention.
[0057] The drainage method comprises a step of detecting the flow of a polluting fluid at least in the gutter 4. The detection step is carried out by the leak sensor 5. When each drainage channel 3 is equipped with a leak sensor 5, the flow detection can be carried out in each of them. Finally, when all the drainage channels 3 are provided with a leak sensor 5 over their entire length, the flow detection step can be carried out at any point on the floor 2 and the gutter 4.
[0058] The drainage method comprises a step of issuing a leak alert. The leak alert is issued from the leak sensor to a control unit 6 of the drainage system 1. In the case of a resistive type leak sensor 5, the alert is issued when an electrical potential differential, greater than a predetermined threshold, is measured by the leak sensor 5.
[0059] The drainage method also includes a step of injecting a purge liquid into each drainage channel 3 of the floor 2. In practice, this step is controlled by the control unit 6. Upon receipt of a leak alert, the control unit 6 actuates the control means 8 in order to project the purge liquid towards the drainage channels 3. It should be noted that the control unit can actuate the control means 8 proportionally in relation to the magnitude of the flow measured by the leak sensor(s) 5. The purge liquid then drains the substance by flowing into each drainage channel 3 to the gutter 4. The flow path of the purge liquid is illustrated in figure 1 .
[0060] The drainage method comprises a step of evacuating the fluid flowing in the gutter 4. The gutter 4 discharges the mixture of polluting substance and purge liquid into the retention tank 10.
[0061] Additionally, the drainage method may include a step of alerting that a filling rate of the retention tank 10 has been exceeded.
