Description

Technical field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a crampon intended to prevent the user from slipping when the crampon is used in mountaineering on snow and ice or in climbing on mixed terrain. State of the art

[0002] In the practice of mountain sports, such as mountaineering and especially ice hiking or ice climbing, it is necessary to attach a crampon to the shoe in order to prevent the user from slipping.

[0003] It is known, according to the state of the art, to use an ice crampon of the aforementioned type, said crampon being equipped with points to prevent slippage. Generally, the points are distributed under the entire foot from the front of the crampon to the back. Generally, the crampon consists of a front part and a rear part.

[0004] Some prior art solutions propose a crampon with a longer front section to allow for more points under the boot. Another method, described in document DE7529410U, involves an ice crampon with more than two structural parts, including an intermediate section with points. These solutions are satisfactory because they provide better grip for the boot equipped with the crampon on the ice. DE 38 03 755 A1 discloses an ice crampon comprising a front section, a rear section, and an intermediate section.

[0005] However, increasing the dimensions of the front part, or adding an intermediate part, contributes to increasing the mass of the ice crampon and reduces the ergonomics and compactness of the whole crampon when it is not mounted on the shoe, for example when it is stored or transported. Object of the invention

[0006] The present invention aims to provide a solution that addresses all or part of the problems mentioned above.

[0007] In particular, the present invention aims to achieve at least one of the following objectives: offer good grip on icy ground; be lightweight; have a small footprint due to its compact size; be easy to store.

[0008] This goal has been achieved by the ice crampons according to claim 1.

[0009] The previously described features, and in particular the presence of the flexible link, allow the front section, the rear section, and at least one intermediate section to be articulated individually. In this way, the ice crampon can adapt to different shoe sizes. Furthermore, adjusting the intermediate section via the flexible link allows, for example, the intermediate section to be positioned against the front or rear section, and its position to be locked once the ice crampon is under tension on the shoe. In this way, the position of the intermediate section can be adjusted longitudinally along the flexible link to adapt to the terrain or the user's activity.

[0010] The ice crampon may also have one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination.

[0011] In one embodiment, at least one flexible link is configured to allow the intermediate part to be positioned against the front or rear end. This improves user comfort during ascent.

[0012] In one embodiment, at least one flexible link is configured to allow continuous adjustment of the position of the intermediate part relative to the flexible link along its entire length. This enables fine adjustment of the intermediate part along the length of the flexible link.

[0013] In one embodiment, the intermediate section on the flexible link is adjusted by friction. This allows for easy adjustment of the intermediate section's position during ice crampon use by sliding it along the length of the flexible link. Thus, the intermediate section's position can be adjusted quickly without the need for special tools, such as a screwdriver.

[0014] In one embodiment, the rear section is adjusted on the flexible link by friction. This allows for easy adjustment of the rear section's position during ice cleat use by sliding it along the length of the flexible link. Thus, the rear section's position can be adjusted quickly without the need for special tools, such as a screwdriver.

[0015] According to one embodiment, at least one flexible link consists of a single piece extending in one continuous section between the front and rear parts.

[0016] According to one embodiment, the front part includes a front connecting element, configured to connect the front part with said at least one flexible link, and in which the rear part includes a rear connecting element, configured to connect the rear part with said at least one flexible link, the intermediate part being configured to be detachable from the flexible link at the level of the rear connecting element or the front connecting element.

[0017] In this way, it is possible to completely remove the middle part of the ice crampon, for example to increase the compactness and lightness of the ice crampon to suit the user's practice.

[0018] In one embodiment, said at least one flexible link is configured to be length-adjustable so as to adjust the distance between the rear and front portions. Advantageously, the rear and front connecting elements can allow for the length adjustment of said at least one flexible link. The aforementioned arrangements allow for the provision of an ice crampon in which the length adjustment system is incorporated into the crampon itself. Furthermore, the length adjustment is continuous along the flexible link, so as to allow for very precise length adjustment.

[0019] According to one embodiment, the front connecting element includes a front notch, into which is inserted at least one flexible link, the at least one flexible link having a width less than the lateral dimension of the front notch, along the lateral direction of the front part.

[0020] According to one embodiment, the rear connecting element includes a rear notch into which is inserted at least one flexible link, the at least one flexible link having a width less than the lateral dimension of the rear notch along the lateral direction of the rear part.

[0021] In one embodiment, the ice crampon comprises a single flexible strap, which has sufficient width to ensure the stability of the ice crampon so that the front, middle, and rear sections remain substantially parallel to each other. For example, the width of the flexible strap is greater than 3 cm measured perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the ice crampon.

[0022] Advantageously, using a flexible strap with a significant width can improve the lateral grip of the ice crampon. Furthermore, combining a wide flexible strap with a narrow rear, middle, and front section ensures good stability of the boot on the ground, resulting in a crampon with a compact size and low weight.

[0023] Furthermore, a wide flexible link can facilitate adjustment of the position of the intermediate part along the flexible link and adjustment of the size of the front and rear parts.

[0024] By "wide" is meant a width of the flexible link greater than one-third of the width of at least one intermediate part measured in the lateral direction of at least one intermediate part.

[0025] According to one embodiment, at least one flexible link undergoes longitudinal tension when the ice crampon is attached to the shoe.

[0026] For example, the longitudinal tension is greater than 40 N, and more particularly greater than 50 N, and notably approximately equal to 60 N.

[0027] According to one embodiment, the material of at least one flexible link has a rigidity such that the elongation of the flexible link is less than 15% when the ice crampon is placed under longitudinal tension.

[0028] For example, the material of at least one flexible link may include very high molecular weight polyethylene, and / or high tenacity polyester, ensuring an elongation of less than 3%.

[0029] According to this embodiment, the longitudinal tension experienced by the flexible link between the front and rear parts ensures a frictional locking of the longitudinal position of the intermediate part along the flexible link.

[0030] According to one embodiment, the ice crampon comprises two flexible lateral links.

[0031] The previously described features provide lateral stability of the boot on the ice cleat, notably by preventing relative rotation of the front, rear, and midsection, particularly when the ice cleat is under longitudinal tension. In other words, these features eliminate lateral pivoting of the ice cleat.

[0032] According to one embodiment, each flexible link can be chosen from: a piece of cable, a piece of webbing, a piece of cord.

[0033] According to one embodiment, the front part, the rear part and at least one intermediate part are configured to fit together when they are superimposed with respect to each other in a transverse direction of the ice crampon.

[0034] In one embodiment, at least one flexible strap is configured to allow the ice crampon to vary between an extended configuration, in which the ice crampon can be attached to the boot, and a nested configuration, in which the front part, the rear part, and at least one intermediate part are nested together. It is therefore understood that the flexibility of the strap allows the ice crampon to fold back on itself, particularly for storage when in the nested configuration.

[0035] According to one embodiment, the ice crampon remains intact when switching between the deployed and nested configurations. It is therefore understood that it is not necessary to disassemble the ice crampon for it to occupy the nested configuration.

[0036] According to one embodiment, the front part, the rear part, and at least one intermediate part are contained within a volume of less than 450 mm³ when they are nested together.

[0037] According to one embodiment, the front part, the rear part, and at least one intermediate part are included, when fitted together, in a parallelepiped having a lateral dimension between 35 mm and 70 mm, a longitudinal dimension between 75 mm and 150 mm, and a transverse dimension between 75 mm and 150 mm.

[0038] The previously described features allow the ice crampon to be folded when not in use. This results in a very compact size for transport or storage. Furthermore, the overall weight of the ice crampon can be minimal.

[0039] According to one embodiment, the front part includes a front platform intended to receive a front portion of the shoe, and in which the rear part includes a rear platform intended to receive a rear portion of the shoe, the front platform and the rear platform having a length along the longitudinal direction of between 3 cm and 6 cm, and in particular substantially equal to 4 cm.

[0040] According to one embodiment, the front part includes a front attachment and the rear part includes a rear attachment, at least one of the front attachment and the rear attachment includes a lever configured to bear against a shoulder included on a portion of the shoe and to place at least one flexible link in longitudinal tension when the front and rear portions of the shoe are attached to the ice crampon by means of the front attachment and the rear attachment of the ice crampon respectively.

[0041] Advantageously, the presence of the intermediate part makes it possible to limit the length of the front and rear platforms while maintaining the grip performance of the ice crampon on the ice.

[0042] According to one embodiment, the rear part includes a rear attachment configured to bear against a shoulder included on the rear portion of the shoe.

[0043] According to one embodiment, the rear fixing is a wire exerting pressure on the shoe to prevent relative play between the shoe and the ice crampon.

[0044] According to one embodiment, the rear binding includes a lever configured to place at least one flexible link under longitudinal tension when the front portion of the boot is attached to the ice crampon via the front binding.

[0045] According to one embodiment, the lever is configured to place the rear fastener under tension on the shoulder.

[0046] According to one embodiment, the ice crampon may include a stop strap, for example disposed at the lever, and configured to attach around the shoe.

[0047] In one embodiment, the front part includes a front attachment for securing the front part to the front portion of the shoe. For example, the front attachment can be configured to bear against a shoulder on the front portion of the shoe.

[0048] According to one embodiment, the front fixing is a wire exerting pressure on the shoe to counteract relative play between the shoe and the ice crampon.

[0049] According to one embodiment, the front binding includes a lever configured to place at least one flexible link under longitudinal tension when the rear portion of the boot is attached to the ice crampon via the rear binding.

[0050] According to one embodiment, the lever is configured to place the front binding under tension on the front shoulder of the shoe.

[0051] According to one embodiment, the front fastening is rigid, and configured to automatically adapt to the shape of the front portion of the shoe.

[0052] According to another embodiment, the front attachment is semi-rigid, for example the front attachment may include an adjustable strap. Brief description of the drawings

[0053] Other aspects, objectives, advantages, and features of the invention will become clearer upon reading the following detailed description of preferred embodiments thereof, given by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: [ Fig. 1 ] There figure 1 is a schematic view of the ice crampon according to one embodiment of the invention. Fig. 2 ] There figure 2 is a schematic view of the ice crampon according to an embodiment of the invention when it is tensioned on a shoe. Fig. 3 ] There figure 3is a schematic view of the ice crampon of the figure 2 when it is folded in on itself. Detailed description

[0054] In the figures and throughout the description, the same reference numerals represent identical or similar elements. Furthermore, the various elements are not drawn to scale to ensure clarity. Moreover, the different embodiments and variants are not mutually exclusive and can be combined.

[0055] As illustrated on the figure 1 The invention relates to an ice crampon 1 intended to be attached to a shoe.

[0056] Ice crampon 1 includes a front part 200, a rear part 300, at least an intermediate part 400 and a flexible link 500.

[0057] The front part 200 includes at least one pair of front spikes 202 offset from each other in a lateral direction of the front part 200.

[0058] According to one embodiment, the front part 200 includes a front fixing 210 intended to fix the front part 200 to the front portion of the shoe.

[0059] For example, the 210 front binding can be rigid, and configured to automatically adapt to the shape of the front portion of the shoe.

[0060] Alternatively, the 210 front attachment can be semi-rigid, for example the 210 front attachment can include a strap.

[0061] The rear part 300 includes at least one pair of rear spikes 302 offset from each other along a lateral direction of the rear part.

[0062] There figure 1presents an embodiment in which the rear portion 300 includes a rear fastening 310 configured to bear against a shoulder included on the rear portion of the shoe. figure 2 illustrates a configuration in which ice crampon 1 is fixed to said shoe.

[0063] According to a non-limiting variant, the rear attachment 310 is a wire exerting pressure on the shoe to prevent relative play between the shoe and the ice crampon 1.

[0064] According to another non-limiting variant, the rear binding 310 includes a lever 312 configured to place at least one flexible link 500 under longitudinal tension when the front portion of the boot is fixed to the ice crampon 1 via the front binding 210. For example, the tensioning of at least one flexible link 500 by the lever 310 can be achieved when the front binding 210 includes a rigid or semi-rigid toe piece.

[0065] Advantageously, the lever 312 can include a micrometric adjustment system 316, for example a screw, configured to adjust the height of the lever 312 relative to a shoulder of the boot. In this way, the ice crampon 1 can adapt to different types of boots, or accommodate a possible elongation of the flexible link 500, when the ice crampon 1 is under tension on the boot.

[0066] Alternatively or jointly, the ice crampon 1 may include a stop strap 314, for example disposed at the lever 312, and configured to attach around the boot.

[0067] According to one embodiment, the front part 200 includes a front platform 208 intended to receive a front portion of the shoe, and the rear part 300 may include a rear platform 308 intended to receive a rear portion of the shoe.

[0068] According to this embodiment, the front platform 208 and the rear platform 308 can have a length along the longitudinal direction of between 3 cm and 6 cm, and in particular substantially equal to 4 cm.

[0069] As stated above, the ice crampon also includes at least one flexible link 500 which connects the front part 200 and the rear part 300 together along a longitudinal direction of the ice crampon 1. For example, the at least one flexible link 500 is made of a single piece extending in one piece between the front part 200 and the rear part 300.

[0070] According to a non-limiting variant shown on the figure 1 , the front part 200 includes a front linking element 204 configured to link the front part 200 with said at least one flexible link 500.

[0071] The front connecting element 204 may include in particular a front notch 206 on which at least one flexible link 500 is inserted, the at least one flexible link 500 having a width less than the lateral dimension of the front notch 206 along the lateral direction of the front part 200.

[0072] Alternatively or jointly, the rear portion 300 may include a rear linking element 304, configured to link the rear portion 300 with the flexible link 500.

[0073] The rear linking element 304 may include a rear notch 306 into which at least one flexible link 500 is inserted, the at least one flexible link 500 having a width less than the lateral dimension of the rear notch 306 along the lateral direction of the rear portion 300.

[0074] According to one embodiment, said at least one flexible link 500 is configured to be adjustable in length. Advantageously, the rear connecting element 304 and the front connecting element 204 can allow the length adjustment of said at least one flexible link 500.

[0075] In one embodiment, the ice crampon 1 comprises a single flexible strap 500, which has sufficient width to ensure the stability of the ice crampon so that the front, middle, and rear sections remain parallel to each other, particularly when the ice crampon 1 is under longitudinal tension following attachment to the boot. For example, the width of the flexible strap may be greater than 3 cm measured perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the ice crampon 1.

[0076] According to another embodiment not shown, the ice crampon 1 comprises two lateral flexible 500 links.

[0077] According to one embodiment, each flexible link 500 can be made up of a piece of cable, a piece of webbing or a piece of cord.

[0078] Ice crampon 1 also includes at least one intermediate part 400 mounted on the flexible link 500, positioned between the front part 200 and the rear part 300. The at least one intermediate part 400 includes at least one pair of intermediate points 402, these points being offset from each other in a lateral direction of the intermediate part 400.

[0079] Advantageously, the intermediate part 400 can be configured to be detachable from the flexible link 500 at the rear linking element 304 or the front linking element 204. In this way, it is possible to completely remove the intermediate part 400 from the ice crampon 1, for example to promote the compactness and lightness of the ice crampon 1 to suit the practice of the user of the ice crampon 1.

[0080] Said at least one pair of front spikes 202, said at least one pair of rear spikes 302 and said at least one pair of intermediate spikes 402 are configured to prevent slippage of the ice crampon 1 on a ground, including an icy ground.

[0081] Furthermore, the front part 200, the rear part 300 and said at least one intermediate part 400 are independent in articulation with respect to each other at least in the longitudinal direction and in said lateral directions.

[0082] Finally, the position of the intermediate section 400 is adjustable relative to the flexible link 500 along the longitudinal direction. Advantageously, at least one flexible link 500 can be configured to allow the intermediate section 400 to be positioned against the front section 200, or against the rear section 300.

[0083] As illustrated in the figures, at least one flexible link 500 is configured to allow continuous adjustment of the position of the intermediate part 400 relative to the flexible link 500 over the entire length of the flexible link 500. In particular, the adjustment of the intermediate part 400 on the flexible link 500 can be achieved by friction.

[0084] Furthermore, it may be provided that at least one flexible link 500 is configured to allow continuous adjustment of the position of the rear part 300 relative to the flexible link 500 over the entire length of the flexible link 500. In particular, the adjustment of the rear part 300 on the flexible link 500 may be achieved by friction.

[0085] The previously described provisions allow ice crampon 1 to be attached to a shoe.

[0086] According to one embodiment, at least one flexible link 500 undergoes longitudinal tension when the ice crampon 1 is attached to the shoe.

[0087] For example, the longitudinal tension is greater than 40 N, and more particularly greater than 50 N and notably approximately equal to 60 N.

[0088] Advantageously, the longitudinal tension experienced by the flexible link 500 between the front part 200 and the rear part 300 ensures a positive locking, for example by friction, of the longitudinal position of the intermediate part 400 along the flexible link 500.

[0089] According to one embodiment, the material of at least one flexible link 500 has a rigidity such that the elongation of the flexible link is less than 15% when the ice crampon 1 is put under longitudinal tension.

[0090] For example, the material of at least one flexible 500 link may include very high molecular weight polyethylene and / or high tenacity polyester guaranteeing an elongation of less than 3%.

[0091] The presence of the intermediate part 400 makes it possible in particular to limit the length of the front platform 208 and the rear platform 308 while maintaining the grip performance of the ice crampon 1 on the ice.

[0092] When the ice crampon 1 is not attached to the boot, the previously described provisions, including the presence of the flexible link 500, allow the front part 200, the rear part 300 and at least one intermediate part 400 to be articulated individually.

[0093] In this way, and as illustrated on the figure 3 , the front part 200, the rear part 300 and at least one intermediate part 400 can be configured to fit together when superimposed on each other in a transverse direction of the ice crampon 1.

[0094] For example, the front part 200, the rear part 300, and at least one intermediate part 400 can be contained in a volume of less than 450 mm³ when they are nested together.

[0095] Alternatively or jointly, the front part 200, the rear part 300, and at least one intermediate part 400 may be included in a parallelepiped having a lateral dimension between 35 mm and 70 mm, a longitudinal dimension between 75 mm and 150 mm, and a transverse dimension between 75 mm and 150 mm when they are nested together.

[0096] Thus, and advantageously, at least one flexible strap 500 is configured to allow the ice crampon 1 to vary between a deployed configuration, in which the ice crampon 1 can be attached to the boot, and a nested configuration, in which the front part 200, the rear part 300, and at least one intermediate part 400 are nested together. It is therefore clear that the flexibility of the flexible strap 500 allows the ice crampon 1 to fold back on itself, particularly for storage when in the nested configuration.

[0097] According to one embodiment, the ice crampon 1 remains intact when it changes between the deployed and nested configurations. It is therefore understood that it is not necessary to disassemble the ice crampon 1 for it to occupy the nested configuration.

[0098] Thus, the ice crampon 1 can be folded into itself when not in use. This increases the crampon 1's compact size when folded for transport or storage. Furthermore, the overall weight of the ice crampon 1 can be reduced.

[0099] Finally, and advantageously, the use of a 500 flexible cord with a significant width can improve the lateral stability of the ice crampon 1. In addition, the combination of a wide 500 flexible cord with a 300 rear section, a 400 intermediate section, and a 200 front section with small dimensions ensures good stability of the boot on the ground and presents an ice crampon 1 with limited bulk and reduced weight.

[0100] Furthermore, a wide flexible link 500 can facilitate the adjustment of the position of the intermediate part 400 along the flexible link 500 and the adjustment of the dimension between the front part 200 and the rear part 300.

[0101] By "wide" is meant a width of the flexible link 500 greater than one third of the width of at least one intermediate part 400 measured in the lateral direction of at least one intermediate part 400.

[0102] The previously described provisions provide lateral stability of the boot on the ice crampon 1, specifically by preventing relative rotation of the front section 200, the rear section 300, and the intermediate section 400, particularly when the ice crampon 1 is under longitudinal tension. In other words, the previously described provisions eliminate lateral pivoting of the ice crampon 1.
