Switch arrangement and method for operating a switch arrangement

Abstract

The present invention relates to a switch arrangement (1) comprising a vacuum switch device (8-14) with a movable contact (11) and a fixed contact (12), and a magnet drive (2, 4) which has at least one coil (2) and which is designed, in the connected state, to exert an attracting force (F) on an armature (4) and to move it, and a transmission mechanism (5-7) which is designed to convert a movement of the armature (4) into a movement of the movable contact (11) towards the fixed contact (12), characterised in that a polarity reversal device (15) is designed to reverse the polarity of a current flow through the at least one coil (2). The present invention also relates to a corresponding method.
