Abstract

The invention relates to a locking and release mechanism for a plug connector system (100) to be installed in a panel, wherein the plug connector system (100) is configured to be retractable into the panel and comprises a plug connector body (10) with a built-in housing (30), the plug connector body (10) comprising a bottom plug connector receptacle (12), a central plug connector receptacle (14) and a top plug connector receptacle (16), wherein the plug connector receptacles (12, 14, 16) are configured to be reversibly collapsible inside the built-in housing (30) and consequently the plug connector body (10) is configured to be of variable height.
