Abstract

The invention relates to a projectile (1) with a projectile body (10) having a recess (17) for receiving explosives and, at least partially (12), a preferably cylindrical outer surface (13) oriented along a longitudinal axis (11) of the projectile body (10), wherein at least one fragmentation group (41, 42, 43) comprising at least two adjacent, annular fragmentation bodies (20, 21, 22, 23, 24) is provided, which are threaded along the outer surface (13) and form a fragmentation section (51, 52, 53) of the projectile (1). At least adjacent fragmentation bodies (20, 21, 22) of a fragmentation group (41, 42, 43) are connected to one another by means of at least one weld bead (30, 31, 32, 33, 34). A method for manufacturing such a projectile (1) is further described.
