Description
[0001] Foam mounting machine
[0002] Description
[0003] Field of invention:
[0004] The present invention relates generally to the manufacture of mattresses, and more particularly, to an apparatus for mounting the foam elements of a mattress.
[0005] Previous techniques:
[0006] Many processes are often involved in the mattress production process. Generally, when processing mattresses, an assembly line production method is preferred to provide greater precision and increase production rates.
[0007] There are several steps and mechanisms involved in the mattress production line, for example the glue spray feeding step, the mattress sub-assembly transport step, the assembly step, etc. The most critical step is spraying glue onto the mattress core, then gluing and assembling elements such as the foam side panels.
[0008] Usually, this operation involves semi-automatically transporting and applying glue, and then gluing the foam side panels, which will bring high labor intensity and low work efficiency. The long-term semi-automatic glue application and assembly operation will not only cause harm to the operators' bodies, but also limit the production capacity of the line. Therefore, developing a foam element assembly machine suitable for mattresses is preferable to improve production efficiency and operator safety.
[0009] It is known from the US patent application bearing number US2016214309 filed by DREAMWELL claiming US priority No. US201615003940, an apparatus for sizing and assembling foam elements to a nominal size comprising: a sizing table (204) having a planar surface (250) for supporting the foam layer; and an adjustable rail assembly (254) in movably communication with the sizing table (204), configured to compress and stretch the foam layer to a nominal size, characterized in that the adjustable rail assembly (254) comprises a pair of longitudinal rails (260, 264) and a pair of transverse rails (258, 262) for framing a periphery of the foam layer, each rail having a contact surface perpendicular to the planar surface (250) to provide compression of the foam layer, when in use;and one or more adjustable clamps disposed on each rail, having a fixed portion carried by the rail and configured to slide under the foam layer upon compression and an adjustable portion configured to pinch the foam to allow stretching of the compressed foam layer to a nominal size, when in use.;
[0010] Another prior art application bearing CN1 13334784 filed by Chinese mattress manufacturer HANGZHOU LUCKYKEY TECH CO LTD, wherein the invention provides a mattress manufacturing line which comprises a mattress core feeding station, a mattress core glue spraying station, a mattress core conveying table, a mattress core assembling station and a press. Said stations are sequentially arranged and the bed core feeding mechanism of which comprises a gantry and a mattress core clawing machine, bed core placing rails which are arranged on both sides of the mattress core collecting platform. The invention is also provided with a conveying table having a rotating conveying table and a conveying belt divided into an upper layer and a lower layer.
[0011] The prior art machines proposed below or involving semi-automatic operations are complicated and have high manufacturing costs. The technical problem of the invention is to obtain a mattress production system to substitute the semi-automatic operations and to provide an installation which can provide an adjustable counter-engagement surface against which the mattress elements are engaged, glued and pressed in such a way as to minimize inconsistencies or inaccuracies between the engagement of the side parts along the length, thus allowing a variety of different configurations to provide different size mattresses. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
[0012] The present invention aims to address the above-mentioned technical problems by means of a mattress assembly apparatus that allows mattress manufacturers to attach the foam border sections to each other and to the core with a high production rate while minimizing manufacturing defects. In addition, several foam-comprising surfaces can be stacked to assemble the foams on top of each other in a moving conveyor between a glue application station and a press.
[0013] The invention also relates to a mattress core comprehension system in the form of a padded tray. The tray is composed of four foam sides, providing edge support for persons sitting on the edge of the mattress, and containing a mattress core therein. The system is compatible with (and sized for) all standard mattress cores, e.g., coil spring, foam, foam / coil composite and all known sizes.
[0014] The present foam assembly apparatus thus consists of assembling a mattress platform with four vertical foam side walls mounted above. A standard mattress core can be placed within the confines of the moving conveyor and the assembly can then be covered with glue in a spray or glue application station.
[0015] In order to achieve the objective of the invention, the latter proposes a mattress foam mounting apparatus comprising:
[0016] - A gluing unit (2), used to spray or apply glue to the upper faces of the foam;
[0017] - A mobile conveyor (3) which allows the understanding of the vertical external surfaces of the foam elements and to move the core (7) towards the gluing unit (2) and to the bellows press (5);
[0018] - A pressing unit (5) which allows the core (7) to be pressed;
[0019] - A gantry (6) which allows the mobile conveyor (3) to be guided between the gluing unit (3) and the bellows press (5);
