Abstract
Description
Technique antérieure
[0001] The present application belongs to the general field of secure documents. It relates more particularly to a method for personalizing a secure document, a secure document intended to be personalized by means of the personalization method, a method for authenticating a personalized secure document by means of the personalization method, as well as a system configured to implement said authentication method.
[0002] The invention finds a particularly advantageous application in the field of secure documents in the form of booklets, such as passports.
[0003] There figure 1 shows a secure document 10 in the form of a booklet.
[0004] Conventionally, such a secure document comprises a front cover page 11 and a back cover page 12, for example formed from a cardboard sheet folded in two.
[0005] Cover pages 11 and 12 can also be laminated to protect them from wear and tear caused by the numerous handling operations the secure document will undergo during its period of validity.
[0006] The secure document 10 generally comprises a data page 13 followed by at least one page 14 which may belong to a notebook comprising a plurality of pages. The data page 13 and the at least one page 14 are protected by the cover pages 11 and 12.
[0007] The data page 13, the at least one page 14 and the front 11 and back 12 cover pages are for example assembled by means of a seam forming a hinge 15 around which the different pages can pivot to open, close or browse the secure document 10.
[0008] More specifically, the secure document 10 can take several configurations: a so-called closed configuration in which a value of an angle “a” between the front cover page 11 and the back cover page 12 is 0°, in other words, the front cover page 11 is folded substantially parallel to the back cover page 12; and at least one opening configuration in which the value of the angle “a” is greater than 0°, a maximum opening of the secure document 10 would correspond for example to an angle “a” whose value would be 180° (flat opening).
[0009] Thus, the example illustrated in the figure 1 shows a secure document 10 opened between the data page 13 and the at least one page 14. In the example illustrated here, the front cover page 11 and the data page 13 are opened with an angle “a” of a value of approximately 90° relative to the back cover page 12 (which serves as a reference).
[0010] There figure 1 further shows that in the case where the secure document 10 is a passport, the data page 13, also called " datapage ", includes various information relating to the document holder.
[0011] To contribute to authentication of the secure document 10 and its holder, and / or to limit the risks of counterfeiting of these documents, which is particularly critical in the case of identity documents, such a secure document 10 also includes a plurality of security elements.
[0012] Such security elements are, for example, a photo of the holder of the secure document 10 engraved in grayscale in the transparent window of the data page 13 and the same photo printed in color on page 14 or on the front cover page, also called the endpaper, 11, for example opposite the data page 13. Thus, when the data page 13 and page 14 or the front cover page 11 are superimposed, the grayscale photo in the transparent window is superimposed on the color photo. This example assumes that the data page 13 is a page made of a rigid polymer material such as polycarbonate.
[0013] The transparent window can also be fitted with lenses and an image is engraved in it so as to give an impression of movement (so-called "SLI" image for "Stereo Laser Image"): an observer then sees a sort of 3D image in grayscale in the transparent window, and this image is in color when it is superimposed on the color image on the front cover page 11.
[0014] An example of a security element is illustrated on the figures 2A à 2D .
[0015] Here, the secure document comprises a grayscale image 17a engraved in a transparent window 16 of the data page 13 ( figure 2A ) and the same image 17b printed in color on the front cover page 11 ( figure 2B ).
[0016] When data page 13 and front cover page 11 are superimposed (the figure 2C schematically illustrating the movement of the data page 13 being folded onto the front cover page 11 by rotation around the hinge 15), image 17a is, in theory, superimposed on image 17b ( figure 2D ).
[0017] However, due to the constitution of such a secure document 10 in a booklet, there is a shift between the different pages constituting this document depending on the angle; consequently, depending on the value of the angle “a”, the image 17a may not coincide with the image 17b.
[0018] Such a shift "d" is visible at la figure 3 which represents a secure document 10 in any opening configuration. Also shown in this figure 3 a section plane II perpendicular to hinge 15.
[0019] International patent application WO 2020 / 030787 in the name of the Applicant proposes a secure document comprising a security element taking advantage of this phenomenon.
[0020] For this purpose, the transparent window 16 of the data page 13 is provided with an optical network, and the front cover page 11 comprises at least two interlaced images.
[0021] For example, a first image of the interlaced images depicts the holder's face from a first viewing angle in which, for example, the face is looking upward, a second image of the interlaced images depicts the holder's face from a second viewing angle in which, for example, the face is facing forward, and a third image of the interlaced images depicts the holder's face from a third viewing angle in which, for example, the face is looking downward.
[0022] Depending on the value of the angle "a", the optical grating shifts from a first position in which it reveals the first image, to a second position in which it reveals the third image. The optical grating engraved on the data page 13 and the interlaced images printed on the front cover 11 are configured to create an animation effect when the secure document 10 moves from one opening configuration to another. Such an animation effect helps to improve security and reduce the risks of counterfeiting such secure documents.
[0023] A disadvantage of the solution described in WO 2020 / 030787 is that it is difficult to guarantee perfect parallelism between the outer edge of the data page 13 and the outer edge of the front cover 11, such a parallelism defect can reach 2°.
[0024] Knowing that the printer generating the interlaced images on the front cover 11 takes as a reference the outer edge of this cover page and that the orientation of the lenses constituting the optical network is itself determined during the manufacture of the data page 13, there results a misalignment between the interlaced images and the optical network which negatively impacts the rendering of each of these interlaced images when they are revealed by the optical network. Such a misalignment can result in the appearance of an unwanted Moiré effect. Exposé de l'invention
[0025] The present invention aims to remedy all or part of the drawbacks of the prior art, in particular those set out above, by proposing a solution which makes it possible to limit, or even reduce, the effects linked to the lack of parallelism existing between the outer edge of the data page and the outer edge of the cover.
[0026] To this end, and according to a first aspect, the invention relates to a method for personalizing a secure document comprising at least three pages connected to each other by a hinge around which they can pivot, a first page being at least partially covered by a personalization layer whose appearance can be modified by applying a laser beam, a second page comprising at least one transparent window comprising at least one optical network arranged opposite the personalization layer, said personalization method comprising: generating a first image by applying, through said optical network, the laser beam to a first portion of the personalization layer, generating a second image by applying, through said optical network, the laser beam to a second portion of the personalization layer, said optical network revealing the first image when the secure document is in a first opening configuration in which the first and second pages are inclined at a first angle relative to the third page, and revealing the second image when the secure document is in a second opening configuration in which the first and second pages are tilted at a second angle, distinct from the first, relative to the third page, the second page shifting in a direction orthogonal to the hinge relative to the first page when moving from the first opening configuration to the second opening configuration.
[0027] It should be noted that the term "personalizing a secure document" refers to the process of creating a unique and individual-specific identification document, such as an identity card, passport, or driver's license, which contains personal and / or biometric information specific to a given person. In other words, personalizing a secure document aims to ensure its uniqueness and to ensure the security and authenticity of the information it contains.
[0028] To this end, personalizing an identity document generally involves the following steps: collection of the individual's personal information, such as name, date of birth, address, photograph, fingerprints, etc. by a competent authority, verification and validation of the information by the competent authority, design and production of the secure document by printing the individual's personal information, and / or encoding this information in an integrated electronic chip, and / or adding secure elements such as holograms or special inks, etc.
[0029] Thus, the method according to the invention advantageously makes it possible to overcome the lack of parallelism existing between the outer edge of the data page and the outer edge of the corresponding cover page, which negatively impacts the rendering of a security element, in this case the interlaced images, printed on the cover page when it is observed through the window of the data page. In other words, the method according to the invention makes it possible to homogenize the rendering of this security element despite this lack of parallelism existing between the outer edge of the data page and the outer edge of the corresponding cover page when opening or closing the secure document.
[0030] In particular embodiments, the secure document being positioned in the first opening configuration, the first image is generated by applying the laser beam in a direction orthogonal to the surface of the second page, and the secure document being positioned in the second opening configuration, the second image is generated by applying the laser beam in a direction orthogonal to the surface of the second page.
[0031] When personalizing the secure document according to these embodiments, the orientation of the laser beam is fixed. Specifically, the laser beam is first focused on the pixels of the first pixel matrix when the secure document is in the first opening configuration and then on the pixels of the second pixel matrix when the secure document is in the second opening configuration, thus enabling the generation of interlaced images.
[0032] In particular modes of implementation, the secure document being positioned in a given opening configuration: the first image is generated by applying the laser beam in a direction forming a first angle of incidence relative to the surface of the second page, the laser beam being focused on the first portion of the personalization layer, and the second image is generated by applying the laser beam in a direction forming a second angle of incidence, distinct from the first angle of incidence, relative to the surface of the second page, the laser beam being focused on the second portion of the personalization layer.
[0033] When personalizing the secure document according to these embodiments, the opening configuration of the secure document is fixed. For example, it may be an opening configuration in which the first and second pages are superimposed and form a right angle with the third page. Other opening configurations are possible in order to meet the constraints of the personalization system used.
[0034] In particular embodiments, the generation of the first and second images is carried out by ablation of material on the first portion or on the second portion of the personalization layer.
[0035] Interlaced images are obtained by total or partial removal of the material constituting the personalization layer.
[0036] According to a feature of the embodiments described above, the personalization layer is a metal foil.
[0037] The interlaced images obtained by total or partial ablation of the metal constituting the personalization layer are monochrome images with a dominant color corresponding to the shade of the metal sheet.
[0038] Still according to this particularity, the metallic sheet includes one of the set of materials included in the following list: gold, silver, aluminum, alloy of at least two metals.
[0039] According to another feature of the embodiments described above, the personalization layer comprises a holographic structure comprising a first matrix of pixels corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer and a second matrix of pixels corresponding to the second portion of the personalization layer, the first matrix of pixels and the second matrix of pixels comprising a plurality of sub-pixels of distinct colors, the ablation of material making it possible to select the color of the pixels by modifying the contribution of the sub-pixels relative to each other for at least a portion of the sub-pixels.
[0040] Interlaced images obtained by total or partial ablation of the holographic structure are high-brightness polychrome images. Such interlaced images have the advantage of being secure and resistant to falsification.
[0041] In particular implementation modes the generation of the first and second images is carried out by carbonization of the personalization layer.
[0042] According to a feature of the embodiments described above, the personalization layer comprises a monochrome organic underlayer covered with a polymer layer, the carbonization of certain parts of the polymer layer causing gray levels to appear.
[0043] The polymer layer covering the organic undercoat is unique in that it blackens at the point where it is hit by the laser beam. The level of opacity achieved at such a point on the customization layer depends on the intensity of the laser beam and / or the duration of exposure to the laser radiation.
[0044] According to another feature of the embodiments described above, the personalization layer comprising a first matrix of pixels corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer and a second matrix of pixels corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer, the first matrix of pixels and the second matrix of pixels comprise a plurality of sub-pixels of distinct colors and are covered with a polymer layer, the carbonization of certain parts of the polymer layer making it possible to select the color of the pixels by modifying the contribution of the sub-pixels relative to each other for at least a part of the sub-pixels.
[0045] Here too, the polymer layer covering the organic sub-layer blackens at the point where it is struck by the laser beam. A laser-blackened point on the polymer layer makes it possible to mask a color point proportionally to the intensity of the laser beam and / or the duration of exposure to the laser radiation. Thus, the points made opaque by application of the laser beam selectively mask certain sub-pixels so as to express a hue by composition of the unmasked basic colors.
[0046] In particular implementations, the subpixels are arranged in parallel monochrome stripes.
[0047] According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a secure document obtained by the personalization method as described above, and as claimed in claims 1 to 11 of the present application.
[0048] It should be noted that an optical grating refers to a pattern repeated at a pitch.
[0049] In particular embodiments, the optical network is made up of a set of lines parallel to each other.
[0050] For example, a network comprises a plurality of lines, straight or curved, parallel to each other, two neighboring lines being separated from each other by a distance called a "pitch".
[0051] In particular modes of implementation, the constituent lines of the optical network are parallel to the hinge.
[0052] In particular modes of implementation, the constituent lines of the optical network are orthogonal to the hinge.
[0053] In particular implementation modes, the personalization layer is hot-glued onto the first page.
[0054] Hot-adhesive the personalization layer to the first page increases the adhesion between the personalization layer and the first page. Since secure documents have a fairly long lifespan of several years, their integrity is guaranteed over time.
[0055] In particular embodiments, the personalization layer is a metal foil.
[0056] In particular embodiments, the personalization layer comprises a monochrome organic underlayer covered with a polymer layer.
[0057] In particular embodiments, the personalization layer comprises a holographic structure comprising a first matrix of pixels corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer and a second matrix of pixels corresponding to the second portion of the personalization layer, the first matrix of pixels and the second matrix of pixels comprising a plurality of sub-pixels of distinct colors, the ablation of material making it possible to select the color of the pixels by modifying the contribution of the sub-pixels relative to each other for at least some of the sub-pixels.
[0058] According to an alternative embodiment, the personalization layer may comprise a first sub-layer consisting of a page, on which the first pixel matrix and the second pixel matrix are printed, covered with a second polymer sub-layer protecting the pixel matrices from external aggressions, itself covered with a third metallic sub-layer. A pixel of a pixel matrix being made up of a plurality of sub-pixels, the ablation of material from the metallic sub-layer by application of the laser beam makes it possible to select the color of a pixel by modifying the contribution of the sub-pixels constituting it relative to each other for at least a portion of the sub-pixels.
[0059] In particular embodiments, the personalization layer comprising a first matrix of pixels corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer and a second matrix of pixels corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer, the first matrix of pixels and the second matrix of pixels comprise a plurality of sub-pixels of distinct colors and are covered with a polymer layer, the laserization of certain parts of the polymer layer making it possible to select the color of the pixels by modifying the contribution of the sub-pixels relative to each other for at least some of the sub-pixels.
[0060] In particular embodiments, the personalization layer comprising a first pixel matrix corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer and a second pixel matrix corresponding to the first portion of the personalization layer, the first pixel matrix and the second pixel matrix have identical color sets.
[0061] Here the interlaced images present the same play of colors.
[0062] In particular embodiments, the first pixel array and the second pixel array have distinct color sets.
[0063] Such a configuration simplifies the verification of the authenticity of the secure document, each of the interlaced images being identifiable by its color scheme.
[0064] In particular implementations, the subpixels are arranged in parallel monochrome stripes.
[0065] In particular embodiments, the monochrome bands are oriented perpendicular to the lines of said optical network.
[0066] In particular implementation modes, the personalization layer is deposited on a layer of polymer material previously deposited hot on the second page.
[0067] There are several advantages to hot-bonding a layer of polymer to another surface. These include strong adhesion to the surface on which it is deposited:
[0068] In particular embodiments, the layer of polymer material is a layer of polycarbonate.
[0069] A polymer such as polycarbonate, when heated and applied to a surface, tends to form a strong chemical bond with it. This creates a strong bond, meaning the polycarbonate layer will stay in place and not easily peel off.
[0070] In particular embodiments, the secure document is a passport, the first page of which is a cover page and the second page of which is a data page containing identification data of a passport holder.
[0071] According to a third aspect, the invention relates to a secure document batch comprising a plurality of secure documents as described above.
[0072] According to a fourth aspect, the invention relates to a method for authenticating a secure document as described above, said authentication method comprising: detecting, when the secure document is in the first observation configuration, the first image, and detecting, when the secure document is in the second observation configuration, the second image.
[0073] Such a process can be implemented by an agent, sworn or not, needing to ensure the authenticity of such a secure document, and the identity of its holder, for example to validate a payment transaction or to authorize a border crossing between two territories. Such a process can also be implemented automatically without the intervention of any agent being necessary.
[0074] In particular modes of implementation, the secure document being observed in a direction orthogonal to the surface of the second page: the first viewing configuration is a configuration in which the secure document is positioned in the first opening configuration, and the second viewing configuration is a configuration in which the secure document is positioned in the second opening configuration.
[0075] In particular modes of implementation, the secure document being positioned in a given opening configuration: the first observation configuration is a configuration in which the secure document is observed in a direction forming a first angle of incidence relative to the surface of the second page, and the second observation configuration is a configuration in which the secure document is observed in a direction forming a second angle of incidence, distinct from the first angle of incidence, relative to the surface of the second page.
[0076] According to a fifth aspect, the invention relates to a system for authenticating a secure document as described above comprising: acquisition means configured to acquire the first image when the secure document is in the first observation configuration and to acquire the second image when the secure document is in the second observation configuration, and display means configured to display the first image and the second image.
[0077] Such a system does not necessarily require the intervention of an operator who views the first and second images on a screen. Indeed, the displayed interlaced images can be studied by automatic image analysis means. Such image analysis means may have been previously trained using learning models developed for this purpose. However, such aspects, related to the present invention, will not be described in more detail. Brève description des dessins

[0080] The present invention aims to limit, or even reduce, the effects linked to the lack of parallelism existing between the outer edge of the data page and the outer edge of the cover of a secure booklet-type document.
[0081] For the remainder of the description, it is considered in a non-limiting manner that the secure document 10 is a passport such as that described with reference to the figure 1 .
[0082] As mentioned previously, such a secure document 10 comprises a front cover page 11 and a back cover page 12 as well as a data page 13 preceded by at least one page 14 which may belong to a notebook comprising a plurality of pages. The data page 13 further comprises at least one transparent window 16 provided with an optical network 18. In other embodiments, the page 14 may follow the data page 13 instead of preceding it.
[0083] In reference to the figure 4 , page 14 of the secure document is covered by a personalization layer 19 whose appearance can be modified by applying a laser beam. On this figure 4 , the secure document is cut according to the cutting plane II introduced with reference to the figure 3 .
[0084] For example, the personalization layer 19 may cover the entire surface of the page 14. Alternatively, the personalization layer 19 may simply cover a limited area of the page 14. In such a case, the area of the page 14 covered by the personalization layer 19 is located opposite the window 16 made in the data page 13. Advantageously, such an area of the page 14 covered by the personalization layer 19 may have dimensions slightly larger than those of the window 16, which makes it possible to ensure that the optical network 18 is correctly arranged on the surface to be observed.
[0085] In the remainder of this document, the term “application of a laser beam” means the scanning of the surface of the personalization layer 19 by the laser beam. The radiation intensity of this laser beam and the duration of exposure of the surface to be treated depend on the material constituting the personalization layer 19 and the desired personalization effect.
[0086] As is known, laser scanning is a technique consisting of moving a laser beam in a controlled and precise manner in one or more directions to perform various tasks, in this case personalizing the secure document 10.
[0087] The basic principle of laser scanning is based on the use of a mirror or a system of galvanometric mirrors to direct the laser beam in different directions. These mirrors are usually controlled by electric motors or piezoelectric systems that allow for fast and precise movements.
[0088] More specifically, the personalization layer 19 is cut into at least two interleaved portions. Such interleaving of a first portion 20 and a second portion 30 is shown in figure 5 . The first portion 20 comprises, by way of example, seven lines 21 to 27 interlaced with the seven lines 31 to 37 of the second portion 30. The person skilled in the art will understand that these are examples given for informational purposes and are not limiting, the portions 20 and 30 being able to comprise as many lines as necessary.
[0089] In order to reduce the effects linked to the lack of parallelism existing between the outer edge of the data page 13 and the outer edge of the page 14, the inventors of the present solution propose to personalize the secure document 10 by applying the laser beam to the surface of the personalization layer 19 through the optical network 18. In doing so, it is then possible to overcome, at least partially, the lack of parallelism existing between the outer edge of the data page 13 and the outer edge of the page 14, the latter being corrected when the laser beam passes through the optical network 18.
[0090] Thus, the method for personalizing the secure document 10 comprises a step of generating a first image by applying, through the optical network 18, the laser beam to a first portion 20 of the personalization layer 19 then a step of generating a second image by applying, still through said optical network 18, the laser beam to a second portion 30 of the personalization layer 19. During the generation of these two interlaced images, the data page 13 and the page 14 are superimposed in order to allow the transmission of the laser beam through the optical network.
[0091] There figure 6 represents two interlaced images 29 and 39 obtained by means of the personalization method which is the subject of the present invention. Image 29 represents the number 1 and is obtained following the application of the laser beam to the portion 20 of the personalization layer 19. Image 39 represents the number 2 and is obtained following the application of the laser beam to the portion 30 of the personalization layer 19.
[0092] The image 29 is revealed by the optical network 18 when the secure document 10 is in a first opening configuration in which the data page 13 and the page 14 are inclined at a first angle relative to the back cover 12.
[0093] The image 39 is, for its part, revealed by the optical network 18 when the secure document 10 is in a second opening configuration in which the data page 13 and the page 14 are inclined at a second angle, distinct from the first, relative to the back cover 12, the data page 13 shifting in a direction orthogonal to the hinge 15 relative to the page 14 when passing from the first opening configuration to the second opening configuration.
[0094] Images 29 and 39 can also be revealed by the optical network 18 without a change in the opening configuration of the secure document 10 being necessary. Indeed, it is possible to reveal images 29 and 39 by modifying the observation direction of the data page 13 as will be described in more detail in figures 12A And 12B .
[0095] There are several solutions for generating interlaced images 29 and 39. In a first solution described in more detail with reference to figures 7A et 7B , the orientation of the laser beam is fixed and the interlaced images 29 and 39 are obtained by acting on the secure document 10. In a second solution described in more detail with reference to figures 8A et 8B , the secure document 10 is in a given opening configuration and the orientation of the laser beam is modified.
[0096] There figure 7A and the figure 7B schematically represent a first system for generating interlaced images by means of a laser beam. Such a system comprises a module M for generating a laser beam F. Such modules are well known to those skilled in the art. The system S also comprises a support S on which the secure document 10 is placed. In such a system, the orientation of the laser beam F is fixed, that is to say it remains the same throughout the operations for personalizing the secure document 10. In the example shown in figures 7A And 7B , the laser beam F is oriented in a direction orthogonal to the surface of the data page 13. All of the elements represented in figures 7A And 7B are cut according to the cutting plane II introduced with reference to the figure 3 .
[0097] In reference to the figure 7A , the secure document 10 is arranged on the support S according to a first opening configuration in which there is an offset “d” between the page 14 and the data page 13. The laser beam F then scans in an orderly manner the different lines 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 of the first portion 20 through the optical network 18. More particularly, on the figure 7A , the laser beam F scans line 22.
[0098] Once the first image 29 has been generated, the secure document 10 is placed on the support S according to a second opening configuration, as shown in figure 7B . In this second opening configuration, there is no offset between page 14 and data page 13. The laser beam F then scans in an orderly manner the different lines 31, 32, 33, 34, of the second portion 30 through the optical network 18. More particularly, on the figure 7B , the laser beam F scans the line 32. At the end of this scanning, the second image 39 is generated. If a third had to be generated because the personalization layer was cut into three interlaced portions, then the secure document 10 would be arranged in a third opening configuration (not shown in the figures) and the laser beam F would scan the lines of this third portion in order to generate the third image.
[0099] There figure 8A and the figure 8B schematically represent a second system for generating interlaced images by means of a laser beam. Such a system comprises a module M for generating a laser beam F. Such modules are well known to those skilled in the art. The system S also comprises a support S on which the secure document 10 is placed. In such a system, the orientation of the laser beam F is orientable. In the example shown in figure 8A , the laser beam F is oriented in a first direction in which it scans the lines of the first portion 20. In the example shown in figure 8B , the laser beam F is oriented in a second direction in which it scans the lines of the second portion 30. All of the elements represented in figures 8A And 8B are cut according to the cutting plane II introduced with reference to the figure 3 .
[0100] In reference to the figure 8A , the secure document 10 is arranged on the support S according to a first opening configuration in which there is no offset between the page 14 and the data page 13. The laser beam F, inclined in a first direction O1 relative to a normal to the surface of the data page 13, then scans in an orderly manner the different lines 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 of the first portion 20 through the optical network 18. More particularly, on the figure 8A , the laser beam F scans line 22.
[0101] Once the first image 29 has been generated, the laser beam F, inclined in a second direction O2 relative to a normal to the surface of the data page 13, then scans in an orderly manner the different lines 31, 32, 33, 34, of the second portion 30 through the optical network 18. More particularly, on the figure 8B , the laser beam F scans the line 32. At the end of this scanning, the second image 39 is generated. If a third image had to be generated because the personalization layer was cut into three interlaced portions, then the laser beam F would be inclined in a third direction O3 (not shown in the figures) relative to a normal to the surface of the data page 13 and would scan the lines of this third portion in order to generate the third image.
[0102] There are several ways of using the laser beam F in order to generate interlaced images such as images 29 and 39. Among these possibilities, the ablation of material from the personalization layer 19 and the carbonization of the personalization layer 19 are particularly noteworthy. The person skilled in the art will of course be able to propose other uses of a laser beam F leading to the generation of the interlaced images 29 and 39 such as the perforation of the personalization layer 19.
[0103] As indicated above, it is possible to use the laser beam F to remove, in whole or in part, the material constituting the personalization layer 19 in order to generate the interlaced images 29 and 39. More particularly, when the laser beam F scans the lines of a portion of the personalization layer 19, it will, depending on the image to be displayed, remove, in part or in part, the material constituting the personalization layer 19 covering one or more zones belonging to the line of the portion that it scans.
[0104] In this example of using the laser beam F, the personalization layer 19 can be a metallic layer or “f oil » of low thickness, of the order of tens to hundreds of micrometers. This metallic layer can include gold, silver, aluminum or any alloy of two metals.
[0105] Still in this example of use of the laser beam F, namely the ablation of material from the personalization layer, the personalization layer 19 may comprise a holographic structure. Such a holographic structure comprises a first pixel matrix 20 corresponding to the first portion 20 of the personalization layer 19 and a second pixel matrix 30 corresponding to the second portion 30 of the personalization layer. The first pixel matrix 20 and the second pixel matrix 30 each comprise a plurality of sub-pixels of distinct colors. Such a holographic structure is shown in figure 9 .
[0106] More particularly, the holographic layer 40 comprises a layer 41 as well as reliefs 42, containing three-dimensional information, which are formed from the layer 41 serving as a support. These reliefs 42 form projecting portions separated by recesses.
[0107] The holographic layer 41 further comprises a layer 43, called a “high refractive index layer”, which has a refractive index n2 greater than the refractive index n1 of the reliefs 42. This layer 43, which may be a metallic and / or dielectric layer, covers the reliefs 42 of the holographic layer 12. As understood by those skilled in the art, the reliefs 42 form, in combination with the layer 43, a holographic structure 44 which produces a hologram.
[0108] The reliefs 42 of the holographic structure 44 may be formed, for example, by embossing a layer of stamping varnish in a manner known for producing diffractive structures. The stamped surface of the reliefs 42 thus has a periodic network shape whose depth and period may be respectively of the order of a hundred to a few hundred nanometers, for example. This stamped surface is coated with the layer 43, for example by means of vacuum deposition of a transparent dielectric material and / or a metallic material. The holographic effect results from the combination of the reliefs 42 and the layer 43 forming the holographic structure 44.
[0109] The holographic layer 12 may optionally comprise other sub-layers (not shown) necessary for maintaining the optical characteristics of the hologram and / or ensuring mechanical and chemical resistance of the assembly.
[0110] Such a holographic structure is described in more detail in patent application FR 3 093 302 A1 filed in the name of the Applicant.
[0111] It is possible, as mentioned above, to use the laser beam F to carbonize the personalization layer 19. Laser carbonization is a process which consists of blackening a given area of a surface to a greater or lesser extent. By blackening these areas to a greater or lesser extent, an image can be generated.
[0112] In such an example of use of the laser beam F, when it scans the lines of a portion of the personalization layer 19, it will, depending on the image to be displayed, partially or totally opacify the material constituting the personalization layer 19 covering certain zones belonging to the line of the portion that it scans.
[0113] The interlaced images 29 and 39 thus obtained may be grayscale images when the personalization layer 19 comprises a monochrome organic sub-layer covered with a polymer layer having the property of becoming opaque when a laser beam is applied to it. Thus, scanning the portions 20 and 30 by the laser beam F reveals grayscale levels revealing the images 29 and 39.
[0114] The interlaced images 29 and 39 may also be color images. To obtain such color images, the personalization layer 19 comprises a first pixel matrix 20, corresponding to the first portion 20, and a second pixel matrix 30, corresponding to the second portion 30, each pixel of these pixel matrices 20 and 30 constituting the personalization layer 19 comprising, for example and in a non-limiting manner, quadruplets of sub-pixels of red, green, blue and white color. The sub-pixels may also be aligned in order to form monochrome bands in the colors described above. The pixel matrix 20 and the pixel matrix 30 may have the same sets of colors or distinct sets of colors.
[0115] The ink used to print these sub-pixels is preferably a reflective ink. Such a personalization layer 19 is notably described in the patent referenced EP 2 580 065 B1 in the name of the Applicant.
[0116] Whatever the embodiment considered, the personalization layer 19 can also be deposited on a layer of polymer material previously hot-deposited on the page 14. This allows better adhesion of the personalization layer 19 on the page 14.
[0117] The present solution also relates to a method and a system for authenticating a secure document 10 obtained according to the present invention.
[0118] As explained above, such an identification method includes the following steps: the detection, when the secure document 10 is in a first observation configuration, of the first interlaced image 29, and the detection, when the secure document 10 is in a second observation configuration, of the second interlaced image 39.
[0119] Such an identification method can be implemented by an agent, sworn or not, needing to ensure the authenticity of such a secure document, and the identity of its holder, for example to validate a payment transaction or to authorize a border crossing between two territories. Such a process can also be implemented automatically without the intervention of any agent being necessary.
[0120] In the case of automatic implementation of the authentication method, this is executed within an authentication system represented in figure 10 .
[0121] Such a system 50 comprises acquisition means 51, such as one or more cameras (only one camera is shown in the figure 10 ) capable of capturing still images or videos. The system 50 is configured to acquire the first image 29 when the secure document 10 is in a first observation configuration and to acquire the second image 39 when the secure document 10 is in a second observation configuration.
[0122] Finally, the system 50 comprises display means 52 configured to display the first image 29 and the second image 39. Such display means 52 may take the form of a computer screen, for example, or a tablet, and thus allow an agent to view the interlaced images 29 and 39 one after the other or simultaneously.
[0123] There are several ways to capture the interlaced frames 29 and 39. In a first solution described in more detail with reference to figures 11A et 11B , the orientation of the camera 51 is fixed and the interlaced images 29 and 39 are obtained by acting on the secure document 10. In a second solution described in more detail with reference to figures 12A et 12B , the secure document 10 is in a given opening configuration and the orientation of the camera 51 is modified.
[0124] In reference to the figure 11A and the figure 11B the orientation of the camera 51 is fixed, that is to say it remains the same throughout the authentication operations of the secure document 10. In the example shown in figures 11A And 11B , the camera 51 is oriented in a direction orthogonal to the surface of the data page 13. All of the elements represented in figures 11A And 11B are cut according to the cutting plane II introduced with reference to the figure 3 .
[0125] In reference to the figure 11A , the secure document 10 is arranged according to a first opening configuration in which there is an offset “d” between the page 14 and the data page 13. The camera 51 acquires an image of the interlaced image 29.
[0126] Once the first image 29 is acquired, the secure document 10 is arranged in a second opening configuration, as shown in figure 11B . In this second aperture configuration, there is no offset between page 14 and data page 13. Camera 51 acquires an image of interlaced image 39.
[0127] In reference to the figure 12A and the figure 12B , the camera 51 is oriented in a first direction and acquires an image of the first interlaced image 29. In the example shown in figure 12B , the camera 51 is oriented in a second direction in which it acquires an image of the second interlaced image 39. All of the elements represented in figures 12A And 12B are cut according to the cutting plane II introduced with reference to the figure 3 .
[0128] In reference to the figure 12A , the secure document 10 is arranged according to a first opening configuration in which there is no offset between the page 14 and the data page 13. The camera 51, inclined in a first direction O3 relative to a normal to the surface of the data page 13, acquires an image of the first interlaced image 29 through the optical network 18.
[0129] Once the first image 29 has been acquired, the camera 51, or a second camera having a distinct orientation from the camera having acquired the image of the first interlaced image 29, inclined in a second direction O4 relative to a normal to the surface of the data page 13, acquires an image of the second interlaced image 39 through the optical network 18.
[0130] The images 29 and 39 thus acquired are then displayed on the display means 52.
