AI Technical Summary
Existing furniture systems are difficult to assemble efficiently, as the adjusting elements are often located on free edges of support elements, making them hard to access and operate, especially with longer support elements.
The support element features a material recess to house the adjusting element, allowing easy access and operation, and the rail element has projections at regular intervals for engagement with the adjusting element, facilitating easier assembly and increased control.
This design results in a more straightforward assembly process, providing a usable furniture system with improved accessibility and stability, enabling the creation of complex structures like cabinet or shelf walls with multiple rail and support elements.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Furniture system
[0002] The invention relates to a furniture system according to the preamble 5 of patent claim 1.
[0003] A furniture system of the type mentioned above is known from the document DE 42 10 388 A1.
[0004] 10 Another furniture system is known from the document DE 72 09 657 U1. This furniture system consists of a rail element which runs vertically in its main direction of extension (see reference numeral 8 there), a support element fastened to the rail element (see reference numeral 1 there) and a 15 clamping device (see reference numeral 3 there) with an adjusting element (see reference numeral 2 there) for fastening the support element to the rail element. In this solution, in a first step, the very compact support element is fixed to the rail element with the aid of the 20 adjusting element (screw) arranged on its side facing away from the rail. Subsequently, one cabinet side (see reference numeral 10 there) is fixed to the support element with an eccentric fitting (see reference numeral 5 there). In this solution, the support element is thus designed as an intermediate element between the rail element and the 25 cabinet side.
[0005] The invention is based on the object of improving a furniture system of the type mentioned above. In particular, a furniture system that is easier to assemble is to be created. 30 This object is achieved with a furniture system of the type mentioned above by the features listed in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
[0006] According to the invention, it is therefore provided that projections which can be brought into engagement with the adjusting element are provided on the profile rail at regular vertical intervals.
[0007] In other words, the solution according to the invention is characterized in that the support element is now designed to extend particularly horizontally in order to be able to place or set something down directly on it, but in order to be able to operate the adjusting element easily in this case too, a material recess is provided on the support element, i.e. the said adjusting element is now no longer located on a free edge of the support element (as in the prior art mentioned at the beginning), but is easily accessible and operable despite the comparatively long support element thanks to the material recess according to the invention.A particularly advantageous feature of the solution according to the invention is that, as will be explained in more detail below, a usable furniture system is available as soon as the support element has been fastened, whereby it goes without saying that, as in the prior art mentioned at the outset, a number of rail and support elements 25 are typically used, for example to create a cupboard or shelf wall or the like.
[0008] Other advantageous developments of the furniture system according to the invention emerge from the dependent patent claims. 30 The furniture system according to the invention, including its advantageous developments according to the dependent patent claims, is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings of various exemplary embodiments.
[0009] It shows
[0010] Figure 1 shows a perspective view from a first viewing direction of the furniture system according to the invention with the support element firmly mounted on the rail element; 10
[0011] Figure 2 shows in perspective from a second viewing direction the furniture system according to Figure 1;
[0012] Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the furniture system according to the invention from a further viewing direction with the support element removed from the rail element; 15
[0013] Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the furniture system according to Figure 3 from a further viewing direction;
[0014] Figure 5 shows a perspective view of the rail element without the supporting element from a further viewing direction;
[0015] Figure 6 shows in section the rail element with head element, 20 shaft element, bolt and screw nut; and
[0016] Figure 7 shows a front view of a furniture system with three rail elements, three support elements and two furniture elements, namely an open box and a 25 shelf.
[0017] The furniture system shown in the figures consists, in a known manner, of a rail element 1 running vertically in its main direction of extension, a support element 2 fastened to the rail element 1, and a clamping device 3 with an adjusting element 3. 1 for fastening the support element 2 to the rail element 1.
[0018] Preferably, the rail element 1 is made of metal, preferably aluminum, and / or the support element made of 5 wood, preferably multiplex boards.
[0019] It is further provided for the furniture system according to the invention that the support element 2 is designed to run horizontally in the main direction of extension and has a material recess 2 . 1 for 10 access to the adjusting element 3 . 1 .
[0020] With reference to Figure 7, it is particularly preferably provided that a plurality of rail elements 1 are arranged next to one another at a distance of between 10 cm and 80 cm, preferably between 20 cm and 70 cm, particularly preferably between 30 cm and 60 cm, viewed horizontally (this is meant in each case as the distance between imaginary vertical center lines of the rail elements 1). Furthermore, it is preferably provided that two support elements 2 arranged on different rail elements 1 are designed to jointly receive furniture elements 4 such as shelves or optionally open or lockable boxes. It is further particularly preferably provided that the support element 2 is designed optionally to receive a furniture element 4 on one side (quasi T-shaped) or on both sides (quasi X-shaped).
[0021] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the support element 2 has a length of between 20 cm and 70 cm, preferably between 30 cm and 60 cm, particularly preferably between 40 cm and 50 cm. Because it is readily conceivable, not specifically shown in the figures, but preferably regularly realized, it is furthermore that several support elements 2 are arranged on a rail element 1.
[0022] Looking at it in more detail, it is further preferably provided that the support element 2 has a cross-shaped cross-section when viewed in a vertical plane. In other words, it is preferably provided that the support element 2 is formed from plate elements arranged in a cross shape relative to one another. The adjusting element 3.1 is preferably arranged in the center of the cross-shaped support element 2. In still other words, with reference to Figure 2, it is further preferably provided that the support element 2 is formed from two wing plates 2.3 arranged in a cross shape. With reference to Figure 4, it is further particularly preferably provided that the material recess 2.1 is formed as a whole from one individual recess 2.1.1 on each wing plate 2.3.
[0023] Now considering the clamping device 3 in more detail, it is particularly preferably provided that the adjusting element 3.1 has a screw nut 3.1.1 on the support element side, accessible via the material recess 2.1. This is preferably designed as an external hexagon. Furthermore, it is preferably provided that material of the support element 2 is arranged 25 in an area between the screw nut 3.1.1 and the rail element 1. This area is preferably at most 5 cm, preferably at most 4 cm, and even more preferably at most 3 cm long.
[0024] Furthermore, as can be seen from the figures, it is provided that the rail element 1 is designed as a profiled rail. This is essential for the solution according to the invention, and projections 1.1 are provided on the profiled rail at regular vertical intervals, which can be brought into engagement with the adjusting element 3.1.
[0025] Looking at it in more detail (see in particular Figures 5 and 6), it is particularly preferred that the profile rail be formed from a base rail element 1.2 and leg rail elements 1.3 arranged on both sides of the base rail element 1.2. Furthermore, several projections 1.1 are preferably arranged on each of the two leg rail elements 1.3, leaving a gap 1.4 between them for the adjusting element 3.1. Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the leg rail elements 1.3 are arranged parallel to one another and each extending at right angles to the base rail element 1.2.
[0026] With regard to the clamping device 3, it is further particularly preferred that the adjusting element 3.1 has a shaft element 3.1.2 on the rail element side that fits into the gap 1.4 and a shaft element 3.1.2 that is fixed to the shaft element 3.1.2 and between the base rail element 20
[0027] 1.2 and the projections 1.1, engageable with the projections 1.1, and wider than the gap 1.4. The shaft element 3.1.2 and the head element 3.1.3 are preferably formed as a single component, i.e., in one piece. Furthermore, to generate a high clamping force, it is particularly preferred that a contact surface between the head element 3.1.3 and the projection 1.1 is formed obliquely to the base rail element 1.2. Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the adjusting element 3.1 has a screw nut 3.1.1 connected to (or screwable into) the screw nut 3.1.1, which is inserted into the shaft element
[0028] 3.1.2 has a screw-in screw bolt 3.1.4 (essentially a piece of threaded rod). The screw bolt 3.1.4 and the shaft element 3.1.2 are preferably firmly connected to one another, for example by adhesive (Loctite®).
[0029] 5
[0030] As can be clearly seen in Figure 5, for example, several recesses 1.5 are preferably provided (viewed in the vertical direction) on the leg rail elements 1.3, each arranged between two projections 1.1 and larger than the head element 3.1.3. 10
[0031] To improve the stability of the connection between the support element 2 and the rail element 1, it is furthermore preferably provided, particularly with reference to Figure 4, that a locking element 2.2 is / are arranged on the support element 2, optionally above and / or below the adjusting element 15 3.1, which fits into the recess 1.5 on the rail element 1 and is supported on the projections 1.1 (Figure 4 shows the "and" variant, but in principle the "or" variant already improves the load-bearing capacity of the furniture system). Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the adjusting element 3.1 is arranged centrally between an upper and a lower locking element 2.2 on the support element 1.
[0032] Furthermore, it is preferably provided (if the aforementioned "and" variant is implemented) that a distance between an upper and a lower locking element 2.2 on the support element 2 corresponds exactly to an integer multiple of the distance between two recesses 1.5 on the rail element 1. Furthermore, very particularly preferably, an even number of free recesses 1.5 are provided on the rail element 1 between an upper recess 1.5 occupied by a locking element 2.2 of the support element 2 and a lower recess 1.5 occupied by a locking element 2.2 of the same support element 2. As can be seen in particular from Figure 3, it is further preferably provided that optionally the locking element 2.2 and / or the recess 1.5 are circular.
[0033] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the rail element 1 is arranged on a plate element, preferably made of wood. The rail element 1 is preferably at least partially recessed into a groove 10 provided on the plate element. As can be seen particularly clearly in Figure 2, the plate element preferably forms an abutment for the support element 2 on both sides of the rail element 1, viewed in the horizontal direction.
[0034] 15
[0035] The assembly of a support element 2 works as follows, as can be clearly seen in particular from Figures 3 and 4: The support element 2 is brought up to the rail element 1. A screw nut 3.1.1 is already screwed onto the screw bolt 3.1.4. As already mentioned above, this is in turn screwed into the shaft element 3.1.2 and connected to it in a torsion-proof manner. By inserting the head element 3.1.3 into the recess 1.5 and subsequently sliding the head element 1.3.1 into the area between the projections 1.1, the desired engagement is then achieved. The final fixation takes place when the locking elements 2.2 engage in the recesses 1.5, namely by tightening the screw nut 3.1.1. The head element 3.1.3, as mentioned and as shown in Figure 6, engages behind the projections 1.1 provided on both sides. By tightening the screw nut 30 3.1.1 the head element 3.1.3 is clamped against the projections 1.1.The disassembly of the support element 2 works in reverse.
