Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a machine and a method for making a yarn comprising decorative elements, such as, for example, beads or sequins.Prior art
[0002] Making yarns comprising at least one textile thread and a plurality of decorative elements coupled to the textile thread in a (more or less closely) distributed manner along the longitudinal development of the textile thread is known. The decorative elements typically comprise a through hole in which the textile thread is made to pass in order to achieve the reciprocal coupling.
[0003] Such yarns are typically employed in the manufacture of fabrics, for example for making evening gowns.
[0004] The present invention fits into the context of the making of the aforesaid yarn.

[0007] In the aforesaid context, the Applicant has set forth the following considerations.
[0008] Firstly, the Applicant believes that it is necessary for the yarn produced to have high levels of quality both in aesthetic and / or tactile terms, for example as regards the integrity of the decorative elements coupled to the textile threads (which must not be damaged in any manner by the yarn-making process), and in terms of robustness, for example by ensuring a stable and lasting coupling of the decorative elements with the at least one textile thread.
[0009] Furthermore, the Applicant believes it advantageous to be able to make such yarn in a simple, fast, and economical manner, for example as regards the feeding of the decorative elements to the devices for coupling to the textile thread. For example, since the decorative elements used are typically in very large number and have small dimensions, a manual positioning thereof is not suitable in an industrial setting. On the other hand, an automatic positioning of the decorative elements must be carried out in a precise manner, such as to avoid any damage to the decorative elements themselves.
[0010] The Applicant has thus addressed the problem of making a yarn comprising decorative elements in an industrially effective and / or rapid and / or economical manner, while at the same time ensuring the desired qualitative attributes of the yarn obtained.
[0011] According to the Applicant, the aforesaid problem is solved by a machine and a method for making a yarn in accordance with the appended claims and / or having one or more of the following features.
[0012] According to one aspect, the invention relates to a machine for making a yarn comprising decorative elements according to claim 1.

[0015] According to the Applicant, the flow (preferably continuous) of decorative elements directed against the first end portion of the fixed threading body, facing against the direction of the flow itself, allows for achieving automatic threading of the decorative elements on the threading body by simple interaction between the flow of decorative elements and the fixed abutment provided by the first end portion. In fact, although the decorative elements can also be loaded into the reservoir in a disorderly fashion (e.g., by pouring them into the reservoir), the interaction between the flow of decorative elements and the first end portion enables a set of decorative elements to be threaded, by virtue of a simple statistical event, onto the first end portion (by exploiting the hole the decorative elements are typically provided with). In this manner, the set of threaded decorative elements can be arranged in sequence in an orderly fashion along the threading body for being fed sequentially to the thrust body.
[0016] The thrust body in turn, thanks to the alternating motion, repeatedly arranges the decorative elements ready to be coupled, by the needle, to at least one textile thread, thereby making the final yarn.
[0017] The present invention thus enables the yarn to be made in continuous mode, starting from the threading of the decorative elements until their coupling to the at least one textile thread. In this manner, the process is completely automated, rapid and effective, and one avoids intermediate steps of manual intervention by an operator, such as, for example, repeated loading into a machine of pluralities of decorative elements previously threaded onto a support for being unthreaded by the latter and coupled, or the arrangement of each decorative element one at a time in position for being fed to the thrust body.
[0018] Furthermore, thanks to the present invention, one avoids the need to provide a continuous strip of decorative elements connected to each other, from which the decorative elements are cut one by one before being fed to the needle. Such a cutting process, in fact, though it can be automated, does not satisfy the desired aesthetic requirements, since, precisely because of the cutting action, the decorative elements are frequently damaged (for example, the totally round shape of sequins can be altered because of the sharp cut and also prove irritating to the touch).

Preferably, said reservoir has a cylindrical shape having a central axis of symmetry. Preferably, said reservoir is rotationally fixed to said main body for rotating about said central axis of symmetry. Claims
1. Machine (1) for making a yarn comprising decorative elements (99), said machine (1) comprising: - a fixed main body (2); - a reservoir (6) suitable for containing a plurality of decorative elements, said reservoir (6) being movable with a direction of motion with respect to said main body (2) for setting in motion said plurality of decorative elements in a flow; - a coupling device (9) structured for coupling said decorative elements to at least one textile thread for making said yarn, said coupling device comprising: - a needle (10), movable with respect to said main body; and - a thrust body (11) structured for alternatively assuming an extended position, in which it is proximal to said needle (10) for arranging in sequence decorative elements in a coupling position, and a retracted position, in which it is distal from said needle (10); - a threading body (12) for threading said decorative elements (99) thereon having continuous longitudinal development from said reservoir (6) to said thrust body (11) and comprising a first (13) and a second end portion (14) opposite to each other, wherein said first end portion (13) is arranged inside said reservoir (6) in position such as to be hit by said flow of decorative elements, wherein said first end portion (13) faces against said direction of motion of said reservoir (6), and wherein said second end portion (14) is arranged at said thrust body (11).

Machine (1) according to claim 1, wherein said reservoir (6) has cylindrical shape having a central axis of symmetry (100), wherein said reservoir (6) is rotationally fixed to said main body (2) for rotating about said central axis of symmetry (100), wherein said first end portion (13) has substantially horizontal development, wherein said threading body (12) is made of rigid material, preferably metallic, preferably filiform, and wherein said first end portion (13) of the threading body (12) is arranged at a greater height than a height of said second end portion (14).

Machine (1) according to any one of the previous claims, comprising one or more thrust wheels (15) rotationally fixed to said main body (2) and arranged in proximity of said threading body (12), wherein each thrust wheel (15) is structured and shaped for rotating about a respective axis of rotation and for thrusting, as a consequence of said rotation, said decorative elements along a respective portion of said threading body (12), wherein said threading body (12) is free to move with respect to said main body (2), and wherein said threading body rests on at least one of said one or more thrust wheels (15).

Machine (1) according to claim 3, wherein each thrust wheel (15) is provided with fins (55) having radial development with respect to the respective axis of rotation, wherein each fin (55) comprises a radial end edge having two lateral portions and a central portion, interposed between said lateral portions, having smaller radial development than said lateral portions, and wherein said threading body (12) is arranged at said central portion of at least one fin of at least one of said one or more thrust wheels (15).

Machine (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein said needle (10) is movable with substantially vertical trajectory, wherein said thrust body (11) assumes said extended position and said retracted position by sliding horizontally along a respective substantially rectilinear trajectory, wherein said trajectory of the thrust body (11) is substantially perpendicular to said trajectory of the needle (10), wherein said coupling device (9) comprises a storage bay (20) for storing said decorative elements, and wherein said threading body (12) ends in said storage bay (20).

Machine (1) according to claim 5, wherein said storage bay (20) comprises a through hole (21) having a first mouth (22) and a second mouth (23) opposite to each other, said first mouth (22) being at a greater height than said second mouth (23), wherein said second end portion (14) of the threading body (12) is inserted into said hole (21) through said first mouth (22), wherein said through hole (21) has substantially vertical rectilinear development, wherein said second end portion (14) has substantially vertical development, wherein said through hole (21) has width comparable with a main dimension of said decorative elements, and wherein said thrust body (11) slides below said second mouth (23), closing said second mouth (23) when in said extended position and opening said second mouth (23) when in said retracted position.
7. Machine (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein said coupling device (9) is structured for coupling said decorative elements to said at least one textile thread according to a sewing program, and wherein said sewing program is a two-thread chain stitch.

Machine (1) according to any one of the previous claims, comprising a tensioning system (24) structured for setting said yarn under mechanical tension, wherein said tensioning system (24) comprises a first roller (25) having a respective axis of rotation arranged substantially horizontally, said first roller (25) being arranged on the opposite side of said needle (10) with respect to said thrust body (11), wherein said machine (1) comprises a system (26) for winding said yarn, said winding system (26) comprising a second (27) and a third roller (28) having respective axes of rotation arranged substantially horizontally and substantially parallel to each other, and wherein said axis of rotation of said second roller (27) is fixed and said axis of rotation of said third roller (28) is movable with respect to said second roller (27) along a radial direction.

Machine (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein said machine (1) comprises at least one detecting sensor (30), for detecting in continuous mode a degree of filling of said threading body (12), and a command and control unit (31) connected to said detecting sensor (30) and programmed and configured for commanding a motion of said reservoir (6) as a function of a signal of filling returned by said detecting sensor (30).
10. Machine (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein said machine (1) comprises a compressed air system (70) structured for pushing said decorative elements (99) along at least part of said threading body (12), said compressed air system (70) comprising a crown (71) having a central through hole (72) into which said threading body (12) is inserted, at least one inlet (73) for said compressed air and one or more dispensing ducts (74), connected to said at least one inlet (73), made in said crown (71) and set into communication with said central through hole (72) of said crown (71).
11. Method for making a yarn comprising decorative elements (99), said method comprising: - setting in motion said decorative elements (99) in a flow having a direction of motion by a movable reservoir (6); - directing said flow of decorative elements against a threading body (12) for threading said decorative elements onto a first end portion (13) of said threading body (12), said first end portion (13) facing against said direction of motion of said flow; - by sliding along said threading body (12), feeding said decorative elements to a second end portion (14) of said threading body (12), opposite to the first end portion (13); - unthreading in sequence said decorative elements from said second end portion (14) of the threading body (12); - arranging in sequence in a coupling position each decorative element (99) unthreaded from said second end portion (14); - coupling in sequence each decorative element arranged in the coupling position to at least one textile thread for making said yarn.
12. Method according to claim 11, comprising, prior to said setting in motion said decorative elements, loading said decorative elements distinct and separate from each other by pouring them into a reservoir (6), and wherein said method comprises detecting in continuous mode a degree of filling of said threading body (12), and adjusting said setting in motion said decorative elements as a function of a signal of filling.
13. Method for producing a fabric which uses the yarn made by means of the method according to claim 11 or 12.
14. Method for producing an item of clothing which uses the fabric made according to claim 13.
