Abstract

The invention relates to a lifting and tilting device (100) for a waste collection vehicle comprising a transport unit (10) having a receptacle for a waste container, a guide (20) which guides the transport unit (10) along a lifting direction H, a traction element (30) with a first end (32) and a second end (34), wherein the first end (32) is attached to the transport unit (10), and a drive device (40) for lifting the transport unit (10) via the traction element (30) along the lifting direction H, wherein at least one of the ends (32, 34) of the traction element (30) is rotatably attached to a fixed point via a connecting piece (70), wherein the connecting piece (70) is subjected to a torque about the fixed point, and wherein a sensor (80) is provided which can detect one or more states of the connecting piece (70).The invention further relates to a method for operating such a lifting and tilting device (100) wherein a control system by means of the sensor (80) determines the state of the connecting piece (70) and controls the drive device (40) depending on the state of the connecting piece (70).
