Abstract

A metal oxide varistor (MOV) including a MOV chip having first and second electrodes disposed on opposite side thereof, a first terminal connected to the first electrode and a second terminal connected to the second electrode, the first terminal having a plurality of through holes formed therethrough, and a dielectric coating covering the MOV chip, the first and second electrodes, and portions of the first and second terminals, the dielectric coating have a plurality of through holes formed therethrough, wherein each of the plurality of through holes in the dielectric coating is aligned with one of the plurality of through holes in the first terminal.
