Abstract

The present invention relates to a pivoting mechanism for coupling and releasing a helmet visor (2) to and from the body of a helmet consisting of a mechanism used to fix the shield or visor of a helmet, for example, a motorcycle helmet, to the body (3) of the same, enabling said visor to be released and secured to the body of the helmet by actuating the mechanism simply by pressing a button (4) and without the need to use tools. The mechanism incorporates all the pieces that make it up in the body of the helmet, while the shield (2) only has a hollow (2a) in which the mechanism is partially inserted to couple the shield. This construction allows, among other advantages, a reduction in the number of pieces compared to known release mechanisms. The mechanism may further comprise visual identification means to know whether the coupling of the shield to the mechanism is correctly performed.
