AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing clothing treatment devices, such as dryers and clothing care devices, face inefficiencies in energy consumption due to the lack of effective utilization of condensate generated by the heat pump's evaporator.

Method used

Incorporating a condensate tank and a connection pipe within the condensate tank to allow refrigerant discharged from the condenser to exchange heat with condensate, enhancing the cooling efficiency of the refrigerant and optimizing the operation of the heat pump based on water level and time conditions.

Benefits of technology

This configuration increases the efficiency of the heat pump by utilizing condensate to cool the refrigerant, reducing heat loss and improving overall energy consumption.

Abstract

A dryer according to one embodiment may comprise: a main body; a drum which is provided inside the main body and which accommodates an object to be dried; an evaporator through which a refrigerant circulates; a heat pump including a compressor and a condenser, and supplying high-temperature dry air to the drum; a condensate water tank for storing condensate water generated by the evaporator; and a connection pipe which is disposed between the condenser and the evaporator, and of which at least a portion is accommodated in the condensate water tank. The refrigerant, that is heat-exchanged with external air while passing through the condenser, can be additionally heat-exchanged with the condensate water in the condensate water tank while passing through at least a portion of the connection pipe.
