Contention window adjustment for unlicensed band operation

Abstract

The present disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses directed to adjustment of a contention window common to multiple bands in an unlicensed spectrum. In some aspects, an apparatus, such as a user equipment (UE) or a component thereof, includes an interface configured to transmit a respective unicast data transmission within a respective first reference duration on each of a first set of frequency bands, and further configured to transmit a respective groupcast data transmission within a respective second reference duration on each of a second set of frequency bands. The apparatus further includes a processing system configured to adjust a contention window applicable to each of the first and second sets of frequency bands in accordance with receiving acknowledgement (ACK) messages corresponding to at least one of unicast data transmissions in the first set of frequency bands or groupcast data transmissions in the second set of frequency bands.
